Source: www.giantsrl.comHuddersfield Giants Paul Anderson has signed a new two year deal to remain at the Galpharm Stadium until the end of the 2012 campaign.
Anderson will continue to be titled assistant coach to Nathan Brown but as Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis said there is far more to Anderson's role than the title would suggest.
"Paul is a highly valued, integral and vital part of this club now and going forwards "he commented " I think he would acknowledge that his role is far more wide reaching than the traditional assistants job and that works well for both parties. He is an ambitious man and we involve him in all areas of the football department to broaden his knowledge of the workings of the club.
"I know that Nathan Brown values him highly and once he'd settled into the UK, Browny left me in no doubt at all that Paul was an outstanding coach and person to have around. It's fair to say that the two of them work superbly together along with Head Conditioner Mark Andrews (and other support staff) and we have a team that can continue to push this club forwards."
Anderson too was excited to be staying at the club that gave him his first opportunity in the coaching environment "I had no hesitation in staying here "he said " I knew when I joined that the club was ambitious and for any coach that's what you want to hear. You want the chance to work with good players and this club has stacks of them and keeps improving year on year. I initially assisted Jon (Sharp) and now Nathan and you learn different things of different coaches as well as picking up bits along the way from those that coached me as a player.
"Coaching is a completely different environment to playing but it's one that I enjoy and the club has been good to me. I am in a great environment to continue my personal development as a coach and, hopefully, help the club to win something."

Source: www.giantsrl.comHuddersfield Giants have today announced that Paul Anderson will be joining their coaching staff in December 2006 as an Assistant Coach. Anderson, who has signed a two-year contract, will work alongside current Assistant Coach Kieron Purtill.
Anderson said of his move,
"I am excited about the next stage of my career and delighted that it will be with Jon Sharp and the Huddersfield club. I felt it best to make this announcement now and put any speculation that is circulating to bed. My energies are solely channelled into Saints and finishing my playing career with Super league and Challenge cup honours. The coaching career is now set in place and I will be ready for that challenge in December. For now it's all about finishing off with the Saints and me playing my part in achieving our goals here."Giants Head Coach, Jon Sharp commented,
"I am delighted that Paul will be joining our coaching staff. He has had an outstanding playing career and I have always been impressed with his professionalism both on and off the pitch. Paul will bring to the Giants a wealth of experience at the top level and he will invaluable member of our coaching staff for Super League XII."St. Helens Chief Executive Sean Maguire said,
"Throughout his career, we have all been able to see Paul's qualities as a rugby league player. However, during his time at the Saints, I have also been able to appreciate Paul's personal qualities: his professionalism, dedication and thoughtfulness. We all wish him the very best with his future career and look forward to welcoming him back to Knowsley Road with the Huddersfield Giants in 2007."For more information please contact Stuart Sheard at the club on 07702 023004.
