Brenton Bowen returns for Cowboys
Tue July 24, 2007
by Matthew O'Neill
Brenton Bowen has been recalled to the Cowboys line up replacing Ty Williams for Monday's clash against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

Bowen has been missing from the top grade for several weeks, but gets his chance again in the top grade as the Cowboys need victory to keep their hopes for a top four finish alive. North Queensland are still favourites to snare 4th position despite last week's shock loss against South Sydney.

Five-eighth Ben Farrar and hooker Aaron Payne have both been named in the starting line up after last week being last minute omissions to the bench where Jacob Lillyman (with Justin Smith moving to five-eighth) and David Faiumu came into the starting side.

Sam Faust replaces Steven Southern in the second row and Scott Bolton comes onto the bench for the injured Lillyman.

Titans sign Brenton Bowen for two years
Wed June 20, 2007

The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans have today signed the exciting Brenton Bowen to a two-year deal with the Club starting in 2008.

An exciting wing / fullback with exceptional pace, Brenton is looking forward to progressing his career on the Gold Coast.

Bowen said, "When the Gold Coast Titans came into the Competition this year, it was a club which immediately excited me because of the appointments of not only players like Scott Prince, Preston Campbell and Luke Bailey, but the Coaching staff lead by John Cartwright and Billy Johnstone. I really think the Club has a big future and I want to be a part of it.

"I am hoping that I take my game to the next level at the Jetstar Titans and with the staff at the club, I am confident that I can."

Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Coach John Cartwright is extremely pleased with the Club's new signing.

Cartwright said, "Brenton is another player that we spoke about early in the piece when first starting to assemble the team. He reads the game very well and he offers blinding speed on the flank.

"He has proven to be quite a try scoring machine when given the opportunity and he will add great depth to our squad with his ability to slot in at wing or in the number one jumper."

For Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Managing Director Michael Searle, Brenton offers as much potential off the field as he does on it.

Searle said, "Brenton recently approached the Club about the opportunity to move to the Gold Coast and whilst he is an exceptional young talent who will add an exciting new dimension to the backline, we also recognised his willingness to contribute to our Community programs.

"Brenton is currently training with Catholic Education in North Queensland through the Sporting Chance program, and plans to complete his Bachelor of Education in the near future. We are delighted that he will join us in 2008 and I am confident he will prove a most valuable asset."
