Source: www.raiders.com.auFor a player that has been on the cusp of representative football for the past couple of seasons, Jarrod Croker's professional and selfless approach to his football and club is sure to have Raiders fans brimming with pride.
Croker's sentiments take on even greater emphasis when you consider the fact the goal kicking centre has previously been included in both the NSW and Australian train on squads and has been selected in the recent emerging origin players squad that goes into camp on January 20th.
"It's definitely one of my personal goals to crack into some representative footy but first and foremost we've got to get off to a good start as a club. That is my main priority."
"First thing first is to get the Raiders on track and then those representative jerseys will hopefully come along down the line."
With the new coaching and rehabilitation structure put into place as part of the High Performance Review, Croker has revealed that he is in the best physical fitness he has been in since he started playing.
"Pre season's been good. It's been a lot tougher than the last couple of pre season's I've done and all the boys have been training well and they're all looking fit and ready to go. I think fitness wise it's the best I've looked since I've started playing so that's definitely a positive."
When you add in the fact that the lethal combination he shares with Terry Campese will be resurrected with the star five-eighth returning from injury, all indicators point to a tremendous upcoming season for the Goulburn Stockmen junior.
But again, Croker's selfless nature in putting the team first is evident.
"It's good to see the big fella back not just for my sake but for the team and the club as well. He's a good figure to have around; he's a good leader. I can't wait to be playing alongside him again."
"Especially with Campo back, Raiders fans should be really excited about the upcoming season. We've all been training really hard to ensure we get off to a good start to the season."

Source: www.raiders.com.auCanberra Raiders centre Jarrod Croker will remain a Raider for at least a further two seasons, after he agreed to a contract extension until the end of 2013 today.
Croker was originally signed with the club until the end of 2012, however the club has realised his potential as a future star and has ensured he remains in Green for an extra season on his current deal.
The signing follows a long list of Raiders players who have committed to the club long term and re-enforces the clubs policy of retaining the current squad and building towards a fourth premiership.
Croker said he only every really wanted to re-sign for the Raiders and to have the security of another two seasons is something that he has now and he can concentrate on performing well for the Green Machine.
"I'm from Goulburn and to play for the Raiders has been something that I've been happy to achieve in my short career and hopefully I can continue to keep playing for them for the long term," Croker said. "I know we have the team and Coaching staff to take us all the way at some point over the next couple of seasons and we've decided to stick together and make it happen."
Raiders Coach David Furner said it was great news to have Croker commit to the club for the next two years and said it showed the club was doing the right things in regards to player retention.
"Jarrod is a tremendous talent who's made his way through the ranks of our strong junior system to cement himself in the NRL squad at a young age," Furner said. "He like a lot of the current squad has decided to re-sign with the club as we look for success over the next few seasons and into the future."
