Hull Kingston Rovers are delighted to confirm that 2007 engage Super League hitman of the year Ben Fisher has extended his playing contract at Craven Park for a further three years.

The 27-year-old who joined the club in 2006 from National League side Halifax Town has played 67 games for the Red and Whites and scored a total of 76 points since arriving at Craven Park, earning him a regular first team spot in the side and making him an attractive first choice hooker for Scotland.

Making his debut for the Robins on the 12th February 2006 against National League 1 side York Acorns the Scottish international had long been admired by a number of Super League clubs, and after moving to Rovers he quickly proved himself to be a key part of the side.

Adding direction and a touch of class to the squad Head Coach Justin Morgan is delighted that Fisher has opted to extend his playing contract, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2011 season.

"Ben is an integral part of the team and has all the attributes that we are looking for in a top class hooker, he's not only a very determined individual he is an extremely hard worker both on and off the field. He certainly has what it takes to lead our forwards around the park and challenge any defensive line," Morgan stated.

Fisher said: "Hull KR is a great club; it's exciting times for everyone at the moment what with stand developments and success on the field. It's good to be part of a team that's full of such talent. I'm really enjoying my footy and extending my playing contract here is a great opportunity for me that I'm sure will only bring out the best in my player performances."
