Source: www.superleague.co.ukFormer Great Britain forward Nick Fozzard is swapping his rugby boots for a briefcase after being appointed as commercial manager of Castleford Tigers.
The former St Helens prop starts his new role on Monday, just a week after announcing the end of his 19-year playing career at the age of 35 due to a shoulder injury.
"The time was right to retire from playing and I'm now ready for the next chapter," he said. "I'm looking forward to embracing some new challenges off the field.
"I was fortunate to have some different options open to me but I was impressed by the ambition of the board and can see how Cas is a club with a very bright future, particularly with the new stadium on the horizon."
Fozzard won the Challenge Cup twice in two spells with St Helens and also played in Stobart Super League for Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Castleford before joining Championship club Dewsbury at the start of this season.
Castleford chief executive Richard Wright said: "I was very impressed with Nick at interview.
"Although he hasn't got previous experience working in this environment, the presentation he delivered where he laid out some innovative ideas and a very realistic strategy for growth showed that he has the business acumen to be a success."

Veteran forward Nick Fozzard has confirmed his retirement from rugby due to a shoulder injury.
The 35-year-old former Great Britain international, who was seeing out the final year of his career with Championship side Dewsbury, has a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder and, subsequently, ended his time as a player early.
"I am gutted that we have lost a player of this calibre," said Dewsbury coach Warren Jowitt. "He would not have been back for nine months and he is devastated that his career has ended."
A Carnegie Challenge Cup and World Club Challenge winner with St Helens, Fozzard became one of the most feared front-rowers in Stobart Super League with the Saints and was named in the 2007 Dream Team.
He also played for Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR, as well as having another spell with St Helens.
His last season in Super League came last year with Castleford Tigers.
