Source: www.bradfordbulls.co.ukBradford Bulls have today released full back/winger Dave Halley from the remaining five months of his current contract to join neighbours Keighley Cougars in their promotion bid.
Halley (24) has scored 24 tries in 80 appearances for his hometown club since joining the Bulls as a teenager. He has recently returned from a knee reconstruction, playing in the Under-20s.
Halley explained:
"Having been given the medical all clear, I need regular first team rugby at full back and am excited to join player-coach Jason Demetriou in the Cougars' battle for promotion from Co-operative Championship One. Plans for the 2012 season will then be addressed. I have thoroughly enjoyed my eight years at Odsal Stadium but am excited by the new challenges ahead."
Bulls Football Manager Stuart Duffy said:
"We fully understand Dave's position and his chances at Bradford would be limited, therefore we have jointly taken the decision to release him from the rest of his contract to enable him to join Keighley. We would like to thank Dave for exemplary service to the Bulls and we wish him every success in the future."

Source: www.bradfordbulls.co.ukBradford Bulls have today confirmed that Dave Halley will miss the start of next season after rupturing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in the opening minutes of the Carnegie 9's Tournament last month.
The injury was not at first thought to be serious but scans revealed the problem and Halley had surgery earlier this week and is expected to be out for between six and eight months.
Bulls Football Manager Stuart Duffy said:
"Everybody is devastated for Dave. It was an injury that looked pretty innocuous at first but it then became clear he would need a knee reconstruction. His operation has been a success and the club will ensure he gets the best treatment available so that we can see him back in action as soon as possible."
