Bulls extend Halley contract

Bradford Bulls have today announced that winger Dave Halley has signed a new contract to remain at the Grattan Stadium until the end of the 2009 season.

Halley, who joined the club in November 2002 from local amateur side Dudley Hill and has represented Wales, has made 20 appearances for the club, scoring 9 tries and has played at Full Back and Wing this season.

Bulls Coach Steve McNamara said today:

"We're delighted Dave's re-signed. He's progressing and turning into a valuable member of the squad and I'm really pleased he's around for another year. Dave's whole attitude is excellent and his game is really developing while he's a pleasure to have around. He's a local lad from Bradford which is important too and it's great news."

Dave Halley is delighted with his new contract:

"This is the only club I want to be at. Bradford is where I'm improving year after year and it's the coaching staff here that is the reason for that. As much as the Bulls are a big club, I need to keep developing and they can help me do that. With brilliant players like Paul Deacon and Glenn Morrison around as well, it really helps and I'm delighted to be staying. I'm a Bradford lad and I'm glad to get it sorted. Now we're all looking forward to playing Leeds."

Bulls extend Halley contract

Bradford Bulls have today announced that winger Dave Halley has signed a new contract to remain at the Grattan Stadium until the end of the 2008 season.

Halley, who joined the club in November 2002 from local amateur side Dudley Hill, has made seven appearances this season and scored two tries.

Bulls Coach Steve McNamara said today:

We're delighted Dave's staying another year. He's been a late developer and by his own admission, his application earlier in his Bradford career probably wasn't what it should have been but he's certainly knuckled down particularly over the last six to eight months. Dave's gone from being right on the edges to right back in the frame and I'm confident he can do the job for us as and when we do use him. He still has a lot of improvements to make in his game but with his current attitude he's given himself every opportunity and he certainly deserves this new contract."

Dave Halley is delighted to extend his time with the club:

"I'm really pleased to have got another contract but I know there's more work ahead. My aim now is to hopefully play more games going into the business end of the season. It is my aim to have a great year next season and earn a longer contract. I know it's in my hands and that's the incentive; play well and get another contract."
