Source: www.giantsrl.comThe Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Wildcats have concluded arrangements which see Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond join the Wildcats for 2012 with outside back Aaron Murphy joining the Giants until the end of the 2015 Super League season.
Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis commented: "There has been much speculation surrounding these players recently and now that all paperwork is concluded and lodged at Red Hall both ourselves and the Wildcats can formally announce the changes to our respective squads."
"From our perspective it is no secret that the Giants were one of several clubs keen to sign Aaron at the beginning of this season. We are delighted that he has chosen to join the Giants."
"We approached Aaron earlier in the year when Wakefield were in Administration with permission from the administrators and to his credit he asked to see the year out with his teamates before wanting to come to us in the off season. While this announcement looks like a player swap the reality is all three players had several clubs keen to sign them."
"For the record we would like to thank both Andy and Danny for their excellent service to the claret and gold and wish them well in the future at a club that like ourselves looks to have exciting times ahead."
Wakefield Chief Executive James Elston commented, "Despite our best efforts I am disappointed that Aaron Murphy will no longer be a part of the future at Wakefield, however we are keen to make sure we stick to our philosophy of developing young British talent and I am confident the we have players, such as Danny Cowling and Lucas Walshaw, coming through that will fill those shoes."
"As a club we have set out to retain our youth and develop home grown talent however we are in a commercial industry and would be foolish to hold on to players who don't want to play at Wakefield."
"If we are to lose players we must get maximum value for our investment in that player, this deal gives us that. Both Andy and Danny have played well all year at the Giants and played in the final play-off games, proving the quality of the players that they are."
The Giants expect to be making further announcements in regards to the 2012 playing roster in the not too distant future.

Source: www.giantsrl.comFresh from signing a new contract to coach Huddersfield Giants in the 2012 Super League season, Nathan Brown immediately switched his attention to Sundays Round 15 clash against an in-form Hull FC side (12.30pm kick off).
Brown is pleased with how his side have responded following an indifferent Easter with victories against St Helens and Catalan Dragons and is expecting tough opposition in Richard Agar's side;
"There were some good parts to our performance against Catalan but we have a few parts of our game that don't seem to be improving as we would like them to.
"We would like to keep improving and take some steps forward, particularly in parts of our defence where I think we are letting ourselves down with a bit of inconsistency. It's going ok but it isn't where we need it to be, if we can get a slight improvement there and a slight improvement in other areas then we will be happy with where we are at.
"We faced Hull FC in Round 3 and I remember saying at the time that they have a bucket load of talent within their squad. When you look at their past five or six weeks of rugby they have shown good form and I think it is great that they stuck with their coach - the players seem to be really behind him. Their form now compared to the start of the year has changed and they played well against us after going through a difficult period. We know what type of game it is going to be on Sunday and our respect for the opposition is very high."
The Giants Head Coach also revealed that New Zealand International David Fa'alogo and fellow pack star Andy Raleigh are fit to return to contention following spells out through injury;
"We have got a fitness doubts with one or two of the players and we will see how they go before we make any final decisions but Dave Fa'alogo is fit and available to play again and we know he is a more than capable replacement. Andy (Raleigh) is also available; he has been unfortunate that he picked up a slight problem because the two games he played in succession he had played some good consistent football."
Interview with Danny KirmondDanny Kirmond admitted that news of the contract extension for popular Head Coach Nathan Brown was a huge boost for the side ahead of Sundays Engage Super League Round 15 game against Hull FC at the KC Stadium;
"We were devastated! No in all seriousness everyone was delighted to hear the news that Browny was staying on and had signed a new contract. It hasn't really played on the players minds too much but everyone is really pleased with the news and I'm sure the fans are too. Nathan has taken the club forward a considerable amount over the last two and a half seasons so it's a boost for everyone to know that he's staying here.
"When he walks into a room he's got an air of confidence about him and that transfers itself to the players. He doesn't talk any nonsense and he tells you exactly how it is, that sort of honesty is appreciated. If you haven't been on your game then he will let you know and there's every chance you won't be playing the following week. You know where you stand with him and if you aren't playing well for him week in week out then you won't be involved for very long."
The 25 year old back-row forward has started the last three games after an injury interrupted start the year and is looking forward to facing a rejuvenated Hull FC side, who are unbeaten in six games having hit form recently.
"They probably felt like they were a bit under pressure at the start of the season and sometimes that can happen to teams before they really get going. Their performances for the last six weeks have been really good and we know they are on a bit of a run, there's no doubt it's going to be a difficult game for us - it always is when you go to the KC Stadium.
"We had a couple of scratchy games over Easter but we feel like we put that right with a good performance against St Helens a couple of weeks ago and then we had to dig in deep against Catalan but we came through with the victory in a tough game. We are looking to kick on week to week and keep improving; if we can do that then we will see where it takes us."
Kirmond also praised the strength in depth within the Giants ranks, with fellow back-rowers such as Jamie Cording, Jon Molloy and Jacob Fairbank making their first team debuts this season.
"We've got a great squad full of depth and everyone in that squad can come in and perform really well, some of the younger guys have really stepped up this season and shown that they are Super League players, that's making it more difficult for everyone in the squad because guys are chomping at the bit to get a spot every week."
