Source: www.titans.com.auJetstar Gold Coast Titans forward Anthony Laffranchi injured his right leg during Saturday nights NRL clash against the Newcastle Knights at Gold Coast Stadium, Carrara.
The star second rower has injured his right knee, he has a grade 2 medial collateral ligament injury (MCL).
He has also sustained a tear of his lateral meniscus.
Laffranchi will have an arthroscopy on Wednesday afternoon at Pindara Hospital with surgeon Chris Vertullo.
This is the same knee Laffranchi injured in 2004. He had a grade 3 MCL injury on that occasion.
It's expected Laffranchi will miss at least 4 games.
Richie Mathers is having his right knee reconstructed on Thursday, also at Pindara.

Source: www.weststigers.com.auWests Tigers forward Anthony Laffranchi has been called into the Country Origin team to play City in Dubbo on Friday, May 12.
The talented second-rower/prop comes into the side for injured St George-Illawarra prop Ashton Sims for the game at Apex Oval.
It is Laffranchi's first representative jersey.
Raised in Murwillumbah, Laffranchi has been in fine form for the Wests Tigers and was unlucky not to have originally made the side.
Laffranchi will now come up against Wests Tigers team-mates Brett Hodgson, Robbie Farah and John Skandalis, who were chosen in the City Origin side on Sunday night.
The City Origin side will be under the guidance of Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens, who also coached City back in 1991.
With NSW full-back Anthony Minichello unavailable for the State of Origin series, Hodgson will be using the match to press his claims for the number one jersey for the opening match against Queensland at Telstra Stadium on Wednesday, May 24.
Hodgson previously represented City Origin in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005 and played three games for NSW in 2002.
"I have played my best football since coming to the Wests Tigers," Hodgson said.
"I feel I am playing better, more consistent football than I was when I first played for NSW. I feel I am still good enough to play for NSW."For Farah, the City Origin jersey is his first representative jersey. He is widely tipped by many good judges to be a fututre NSW and Australian hooker.
As for Skandalis, it will be his fourth City Origin jersey, having played in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Skandalis has been unlucky not to have worn the NSW jersey in recent seasons.
Assistant Wests Tigers Coach Royce Simmons said Hodgson should be the NSW full-back.
"I wouldn't swap Hodgo for any other player in the competition," Simmons said.
"He is adaptable. When we lose the likes of Benji Marshall, he can come forward and play a pivot role for you, When Benji is back, Brett goes back and plays more of a roving role for the team.
"Brett is consistent and he has never turned in a bad game for the club since he has been here. On top of that, he is very smart and directs the players around well on the field.
"He is tough. As tough as they come. And then there is his goal-kicking. He kicks 80 per cent of his goals."News sent by:
