Source: www.raiders.com.auVeteran prop forward Scott Logan will return to the Raiders team this weekend from the bench, for the crucial match against the Newcastle Knights at Canberra Stadium.
Logan has missed three weeks due to a wrist injury he suffered against the Tigers in round 15 and replaces Troy Thompson who will miss the next two to three weeks with a shoulder injury he picked up against Manly.
Canberra lock forward Shaun Fensom will also be missing for the Raiders for the next one to two weeks with an ankle injury, with Sam Mataora coming into the Raiders lineup on the bench to replace Fensom.
The inclusion of Mataora sees Josh Miller start the match at lock, while Danny Galea has been named as 18th man for Sunday.
Raiders Coach David Furner said the side would not be weakened with the injuries sustained against the Sea Eagles and said players like Joe Picker would get their chance to shine again Sunday.
"Its disappointing to lose Shaun Fensom and Troy Thompson as they are two of our workers, but we get two very good replacements in young Sam Mataora and the experienced Scott Logan," Furner said. "Joe Picker has also been very good the last two weeks and gets his opportunity to start and we can use Tommy Learoyd-Lahrs as an impact player from the bench."

Source: www.raiders.com.auVeteran prop Scott Logan will have one more season in the NRL after he agreed to a new one year deal with the Raiders this week.
Logan arrived in Canberra at the start of the 2007 season after a stint in the English Super League and took out the Raiders Player of the Year award in his first season with Canberra.
Seen as a forward leader among the squad Logan has been consistently one of the Raiders best up front since arriving at the club and his experience and leadership is a huge asset to the young Raiders forward pack.
At 33 Logan said the decision to remain in Canberra for one more year included a lot of different factors and he believes he still has one more strong season ahead of him in the NRL.
"I only managed to play 13 games this season and I want to finish my career on a high note by playing a full season and hopefully some semi-final footy," Logan said. "Towards the end of your career you need to weigh up your options, but I think I can still remain committed to the team and I'm looking forward to another year here at the Raiders."
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the club was delighted to have Logan on their books for another year as they see him as a player who can help develop the Raiders up and coming forwards.
"Scott has been a big part of the team for the past three seasons and to have him for one more year is good news for the club," Furner said. "We see him as a player who can not only deliver on the field but also as a player who can help develop our other forwards into consistent performers."
