Source: www.broncos.com.auTHE NRMA Insurance Broncos have taken a major step towards securing the long-term future of the club today with the re-signing of a 'Fab Five' of young guns.
Led by Test winger Jharal Yow Yeh, four of the five players - Kiwi representative Alex Glenn, Andrew McCullough, Ben Hunt and Yow Yeh - are graduates from the 2008 NYC team that made the grand final.
The fifth, Dave Hala, is another local player who has come through the Broncos' development system.
Broncos' chief executive Paul White and head coach Anthony Griffin today proudly stood by the five men who look destined to spend their careers with the Brisbane club.
"We live in a professional world in the NRL but it is wonderful when you can make announcements like this that reflect loyalty to the club," said White.
"These players are a large part of the core of the talent we have developed, and that we believe will take us into the next chapter of success for the Broncos.
"They are fine young men and we are extremely pleased they have chosen to further commit their futures to the club."
Griffin, who has coached all five players through the Broncos' under-20s, said the club had been working on the members of this group for many years.
"We are very happy to be able to sign these players who have developed through our system from juniors to second-tier players to NRL standard, and onto Test honours already in a couple of cases," he said.
"The club has worked hard to give these guys the opportunity to play NRL football and they have proven their ability to compete in the best rugby league competition in the world.
"It is also very pleasing for us that they have shown some faith in the club and where it is going by re-signing such significant extensions to their contracts."
Yow Yeh, whose staggering 2011 season included his Test debut for the Kangaroos and first Origin jersey for Queensland, has inked a three-year extension until the end of 2015.
Glenn and McCullough have done likewise are also locked up until the end of 2015.
Hala will be a Bronco until the finish of 2014 while Hunt has signed a one-year extension of his current contract.

Source: www.broncos.com.auAndrew McCullough and Ben Hunt return to the severely-depleted NRMA Brisbane Broncos team but youngster Kurt Baptiste has kept the no.9 jersey for the match against Parramatta.
Baptiste played his first game as starting hooker against Souths last Friday after McCullough and Hunt missed the match for disciplinary reasons.
And after Baptiste scored a try, coach Anthony Griffin today left him as the starter for the match against the Eels.
McCullough and Hunt will both come off the bench.
"Kurt played well for us against Souths so he deserves another start," said Griffin.
The Broncos are missing a host of players because of Origin duty with Griffin saying the club was down to the bare minimum 17 players for the match.
Dane Carlaw, Ben Te'o, Josh McGuire and Shane Tronc are all on the long-term casualty list meaning if someone is hurt at training this week, the Broncos will have to turn to the Queensland Cup or NYC for a replacement.
"Everyone gets a jersey this week," joked Griffin.
"The team probably looks a bit unusual but there we will be ways we can shuffle them around."
Nick Kenny and Mitchell Dodds are both timely returns for the Broncos from shoulder injuries while Alex Glenn will captain the Broncos for a second time.
