Source: www.bulldogs.com.auThe nature of the 'heritage' in Sunday's Heritage Round clash between the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Gold Coast Titans might be hard to ascertain, yet Bulldogs fans head in hoping round five will provide a game to remember for the second placed outfit.
While the Skilled Park clash looks set -
perhaps, according to Bulldogs Aiden Tolman, Josh Morris and assistant coach Jim Dymock - to be denied the marquee value of Titans centre Jamal Idris up against his former Club, the matchup is not exactly short on talking points.
There's Des Hasler's Bulldogs looking to hit back from their first loss of the season, an error riddled 20-6 loss at home to the Newcastle Knights last Sunday. The match, which saw the Bulldogs held to zero for all but the final 90 seconds, will no doubt be put to bed for the Bulldogs who will need to improve on their 61% completion rate if they're to get back on their winning ways against the Titans.
There's also the loss of Trent Hodkinson for six weeks to a medial ligament sprain, with the halfback's place in the side taken by junior clubmate Kris Keating. Keating's ascent to the top grade is his first for the season and comes on the back of three straight man of the match winning performances in NSW Cup, which saw him cross for four tries.
As the Bulldogs chase their fourth win of the year, the Titans search for their first win in four weeks with their last victory coming away against the North Queensland Cowboys in round one.
The 2011 wooden spooners are without Idris and halfback Scott Prince, however it leaves them with no shortage of quality with their side boasting the likes of William Zillman, Beau Champion, Greg Bird, Luke Bailey, Luke Douglas, Nate Myles, Mark Minichiello and Ashley Harrison.
Coach John Cartwright can't claim to lack cattle, and the Bulldogs head into the match knowing it's only a matter of time before they click as a unit.
One final point regarding the Bulldogs opposition - who went down 26-6 to the Warriors in Auckland last start - is their much publicised financial woes. They'll surely be hoping for plenty of bums on seats for this match to feed into the bottom line.
Coach Hasler predicts his side will bounce back from the disappointing loss to the Knights.
"We were guilty of dropping too much ball and we'll be needing to make a attitude adjustment to hold onto that ball," he said.
Hasler also said he is expecting big things from Keating in his first NRL game of the season.
"Kris is a first grade player who has a wealth of experience. Certainly his attacking game in his left foot kicking will be very beneficial for us."
Sunday's match kicks off at 2pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time - remember to put your clocks back one hour before bed on Saturday night) at Skilled Park.

Source: www.bulldogs.com.auJosh Morris crossed for three tries as Canterbury-Bankstown made it two from two for 2012 with an emphatic 30-4 victory over St George Illawarra at ANZ Stadium.
The Morris hat trick was the high point in a win that was the Bulldogs first over their traditional rivals since 2008, played in front of an outstanding home opener crowd of 29,641.
The first half of the contest belonged to the Bulldog Morris, who crossed for a hat trick inside 30 minutes, while his brother Brett put in a cameo appearance to lay on the Dragons first and only try of the half.
Loose ball adjacent to the Dragons posts in the ninth minute was turned into gold when the Bulldogs put it through the hands for Morris to score a video referee awarded four pointer.
If the first try was a little lucky the second was pure class, with Morris standing up Ben Hornby before stepping his way over to score in near identical position.
Steve Turner converted both tries to give the home side a 12-nil lead with a quarter of the match gone.
Then it came the turn of Brett Morris to get involved, and that he did, somehow slipping miracle ball to put Kyle Stanley over for the easiest of tries after 28 minutes of play.
The visitors joy would prove short lived however with Josh getting his third try just two minutes later, sending the Bulldogs out to an 18-4 half time lead.
The Dragons started the second half in a more positive fashion but it would ultimately be without reward, with Bryson Goodwin out diving Hornby to score the Bulldogs fourth try in the 49th minute to make it 24-4.
Around the same time the Dragons found themselves in trouble with the officials, with Michael Weyman on report for a high shot on Corey Payne just minutes before Leeson Ah Mau suffered the same fate after a hit on David Stagg.
Birthday boy Greg Eastwood was denied a try by the video referee after Josh Reynolds found space with a little under 20 minutes left on the clock.
However the giant Kiwi International ? who was elevated to the starting side in place of the suspended Frank Pritchard - made up for it five minutes from time when he scored under the posts to seal a pin point performance from the home side.
Turner converted to finish the night with a 100% record with the boot, kicking the Bulldogs home for a 30-4 win.
The victory is the perfect platform for the Bulldogs next encounter - a tough road trip across the Tasman to take on the New Zealand Warriors next Sunday.
