Myles out for six matches
Fri July 4, 2008
by Matthew O'Neill
Queensland and Sydney Roosters forward Nate Myles has been suspended for six matches following the Maroons 16-10 State of Origin victory on Wednesday night.

Myles was charged by the match review committee for a dangerous lifting tackle and today took the early guilty plea.

The inform Roosters enforcer will be out of action until Round 24 when the Bondi high-flyers take on the Sharks.

Losing Myles will be a big loss for the Roosters, but they have the forward depth and power to compensate for his los.

The Roosters are shaping up as the team to beat in 2008 with the best forward pack in the competition driving them forward and a pin-point kicking game that has resulted a lot of tries.

Myles dropped by Anderson for missing training
Tue June 19, 2007
by Matthew O'Neill
Sydney Roosters and Queensland forward Nate Myles has been dropped from all grades by Roosters coach Chris Anderson after missing a training session this week.

Myles has struggled for form this season at the Roosters where he's served two suspensions and has also missed an additional match due to being on Queensland State of Origin duty.

The Maroons forward escaped suspension despite farcically being put on report for a dangerous throw that never was, but has lost his opportunity to put something back into the Roosters by skipping training.

Anderson had no hesitation in axing Myles from the first grade squad and his name doesn't even appear in the Newtown Jets Premier League squad list. Anderson has had a tradition of not putting up with any rubbish and ill-discipline from sides he has coached over the years famously sacking Jarrod McCracken from the squad and all training on the eve of the 1995 Finals series.

The actions of Myles who hasn't produced on the field this season is a let down to his team-mates and supporters who have been battling away all season. Anderson unfortunately was left with no other alternative by dropping Myles for a week as he is currently developing a good and healthy culture within the Roosters club.

David Shillington returns from missing last weeks match into the front-row for Myles and the only other change is John Williams also returning after missing one match through injury at the expense of rookie winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall.

The Roosters take on the in-form Parramatta at Aussie Stadium on Saturday night. The Roosters have been in good recent form winning five of their past eight matches including three of the last four. Facing the Eels will be a different proposition, but the Roosters under the relaxed coaching of Anderson appear to be enjoying their football and playing with more confidence than in the earlier rounds.
