Poore and Maitua named in Eels side for Manly clash
Tue August 9, 2011
Source: www.parraeels.com.au

Pirtek Parramatta Eels coach Stephen Kearney has retained prop Justin Poore on his interchange for this Saturday's Round 23 clash with Manly at Parramatta Stadium.

Poore made his return from a long-term knee injury in last night's loss to Souths. Forward Reni Maitua is expected to take his position in this week's side after withdrawing from last night's match with a virus.

In other news, a Police Charity Game will be held prior to NYC and NRL matches on Saturday, with club legends Brett Kenny and Eric Grothe Snr set to take part.

The match has been played for the past four years to support NSW Police Legacy - a charity that supports the families of Police officers that have been killed on duty.

Eels at full strength for Round 1
Tue March 9, 2010
Source: www.parraeels.com.au

New recruits Justin Poore and Shane Shackleton will make their debut for the Pirtek Parramatta Eels this weekend after coach Daniel Anderson named a full-strength squad for the Round 1 blockbuster against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Parramatta Stadium.

Centre Timana Tahu makes his return to the Blue & Gold after a two-year hiatus, in one of just four changes to the team that lined up for the 2009 Grand Final.

Blues representative Justin Poore will play his first game as starting prop, leaving Fuifui Moimoi as an impact player off the bench.

With a fully fit squad for the first game of the season, coach Daniel Anderson was left with tough decisions for both the backline and forward pack.

"It was a difficult decision to finalise this team but I'm comfortable with what has been selected," Anderson said.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Justin Poore and Shane Shackleton make their debut in the blue and gold and they will be excellent additions to the team and club."

Kris Keating makes his return to the NRL for the first time since suffering a long-term injury in Round 10 last season, filling the utility role on the bench. Anderson will make a final decision on his team later in the week and cut his five-man bench to four.
