Source: www.raiders.com.auCanberra Raiders flyer Reece Robinson will remain with the club for a further two seasons, after he re-signed a new deal to keep him in Canberra until the end of 2014.
Robinson joined the club from the Broncos in 2010 and has fast become a try scoring player for the Green Machine.
Currently out with a fractured cheekbone Robinson said he's excited about getting the opportunity to re-sign with the club and said he's looking forward to getting back on the field and cementing a position in the NRL team.
"The Raiders gave me a good chance to come down here and take my career to the next level so I'm looking forward to continuing that over the next two years," Robinson said. "First though I just want to get back on the field and back into the NRL team. We've got some good depth in the positions I play, so it's important to make the most of the chances you get."
Raiders Coach David Furner praised Robinson's professionalism and his hunger to become a better player and said it's another example of a player coming to Canberra and taking their game to the next level.
"Reece played 19 games for us last season and was one of the first players picked in the NRL team this year before his injury, so you can see how much we value him in our organisation," Furner said. "He was given an opportunity to come to Canberra and improve his footy and he's been able to do that so we're very excited about re-signing him for two more seasons.
"We've seen Bronson Harrison and David Shillington come to the club and improve their games and Reece fits into that mould."

Source: www.raiders.com.auEntertaining Raiders back Blake Ferguson will start at fullback this weekend, for the Raiders away trip against the Penrith Panthers at Centrebet Stadium.
Ferguson replaces the injured Josh Dugan who is set to miss two to three weeks with a calf injury, with Raiders Coach David Furner confirming today that Dugan's injury has been diagnosed as a nerve problem in his left calf.
The shift of Ferguson to fullback allows Reece Robinson the opportunity to come into the team on the wing.
Other changes for the Raiders include Dane Tilse missing a week with a hamstring strain, which sees Tom Learoyd-Lahrs return to the starting side and Danny Galea coming onto the bench.
The Raiders have also named David Milne and James Stuart on an extended bench, with Joel Thompson (nose) and Daniel Vidot (ankle) to undergo fitness tests later in the week.
Furner said it was positive to finally have a resolution on Dugan's injury and said it was now a matter of preparing for the game this weekend against Penrith.
"Josh has been carrying the calf injury since the Bulldogs trial and our medical staff has finally found the issue and it's a nerve problem in his leg," Furner said. "We know now how to treat it properly and we'll have Josh back in a 2-3 weeks' time. What it does do is give Reece Robinson his first chance of the season and that's exciting for him."
Furner said he had named two players on standby to cover the potential loss of Joel Thompson and Daniel Vidot and they would know more after the Raiders training session on Wednesday afternoon.
"Joel lost a lot of blood last week after copping a nasty knock to the nose and Daniel hurt his ankle slightly while defusing a bomb," Furner said. "We're confident they'll be right to go but we'll just see after Wednesday's session how they pull up."
