Source: www.warriors.co.nzVodafone Warriors halfback Grant Rovelli will make his 50th NRL appearance in tonight's encounter with Manly at Brookvale Oval.
The 24-year-old Queenslander joined the club after being limited to reserve grade football with the Sydney Roosters.
Looking for an opportunity to break into the NRL, he made his debut in the opening match of the 2006 season against Melbourne and went on to feature in every one of the Vodafone Warriors' 24 matches that season.
A finalist in the Dally M Rookie of the Year Award, Rovelli was prevented from bringing up his half century last season when he spent three games playing for the Vodafone Auckland Lions in the New South Wales Premier League.
The Mackay-born Rovelli re-established himself at NRL level for the rest of the season going on to become the club's top equal try scorer with 10 touchdowns. His try against Parramatta last Sunday was the 15th of his career.
Closing in on the 100-game milestone is fullback Lance Hohaia. Celebrating his 25th birthday tomorrow, Hohaia will play his 97th NRL match tonight as he eyes the prospect of becoming the 12th player to appear in 100 first-grade matches for the Vodafone Warriors; the last to achieve the feat was Brent Webb in 2006.
Returning to the side tonight for the first time this season is utility Wairangi Koopu, who has been brought in to replace the injured Jerome Ropati in the centres. Koopu, who turns 28 on Wednesday, will be making his 154th career appearance after starting the season with an outing for the Auckland Vulcans against Central Coast in the New South Wales Premier League. He was 18th man last weekend after fullback Aidan Kirk was ruled out with an ankle injury.
Koopu replaced Ropati 10 minutes into last year's late-season clash against Manly at Mt Smart Stadium. He went on to score two tries in his 150th NRL match.
The Vodafone Junior Warriors take on Manly in the National Youth Competition (NYC) in tonight's curtain-raiser. The match kicks off at 4.45pm (AEST).

Source: www.warriors.co.nzProp Ruben Wiki, halfback Grant Rovelli and winger Manu Vatuvei are back in the Vodafone Warriors' line-up for their 13th-round NRL match against the Melbourne Storm at Mt Smart Stadium on Sunday.
They replace unavailable captain Steve Price, injured standoff Jerome Ropati and suspended winger Michael Crockett.
Crockett (24) is out for two games after taking an early guilty plea today on a grade two reckless tackle charge for his shot on Bulldogs opposite Cameron Phelps last Sunday. That has meant an immediate recall for Vatuvei (21) who was initially due to play for the Vodafone Auckland Lions against the Bulldogs last Sunday before being forced out with a knee injury.
Ropati is expected to be sidelined for two weeks with an ankle injury he picked up against last weekend. That sees Michael Witt, who has filled the halfback's job the last three weeks, moving back to standoff with Rovelli returning to wear the No 7 jersey. He has spent the last three weeks at halfback for the Vodafone Auckland Lions.
Also returning to the side is Wiki, who'll captain the side once again with Price on State of Origin duty with Queensland.
Head coach Ivan Cleary said Wiki, awarded the ONZM (Order of New Zealand Merit) in the Queen's Birthday Honours yesterday, would benefit from missing the match against the Bulldogs.
"Ruben needed the game off to freshen up. He'll be a lot better off for it even though he doesn't enjoy missing any game," said Cleary.
"Jerome looks like he'll be out for a couple of weeks so that allows us to bring Grant back after a few games in premier league and Manu was a natural choice to return to the side."Crockett's ordering off prevented the Vodafone Warriors going ahead with their plans to run Lance Hohaia in the centres and Simon Mannering in the second row on Sunday but Cleary has again gone with them in those roles against the Storm.
The Vodafone Warriors go into the match with five consecutive losses while NRL competition leader Melbourne is coming off a 26-10 victory over South Sydney.
While the Vodafone Warriors have lost Price to Origin duty, the Storm today had three players included in the New South Wales side. Centre Matt King and prop Brett White were retained from the side beaten in Origin 1 while second rower Ryan Hoffman has been added to the bench.
Winger Greg Inglis, loose forward Dallas Johnson and hooker Cameron Smith are all set to be retained in the Queensland team while Melbourne also has three key players - fullback Billy Slater, second rower Michael Crocker and prop Antonio Kaufusi - out with long-term injuries.
"They're missing a lot of personnel but that makes no difference to us," said Cleary.
"While our effort playing a man short was great against the Bulldogs we have to worry about what we do against the Storm."The clash against the Storm will see loose forward Micheal Luck extend his run of consecutive appearances for the club to 36 (he has played in every match since joining the Vodafone Warriors). Centre Tony Martin played his 50th match for the club last weekend.
