Harlequins Rugby League are delighted to announce that London developed players Tony Clubb and Will Sharp have both shown their commitment to the club by signing extensions to their current contracts.

21 year old Clubb, who joined the Harlequins Rugby League Academy in 2004 from the Greenwich Admirals, has signed on for a further two years with an option for a third.

While 22 year old Sharp, who has also come through the academy ranks at Harlequins RL since leaving South London Storm in 2006, has agreed to stay on with Quins RL for the 2009 season with an option for a second year.

Harlequins Rugby League Head Coach Brian McDermott is delighted that these two young players have re-committed their future to Quins RL, saying:

"Both these players have matured a lot during this season. Will Sharp has been brought up this year to the first team and he has handled the transition well.

"Tony Clubb has made massive progression this year and is now a key member of our team.

"Both of these guys have played some very good Rugby League for us and it is fantastic to see two of our young London developed players making such great strides as professional players.

"We are all really pleased to see Will and Tony staying on with us."

Clubb and Sharp are two of eight London developed players that have featured in the Quins RL first team side over the course of this season, this providing a true indication of the way Rugby League is developing and progressing in London and The South.

These two players join team mates Karl Temata, Matt Gafa, Daniel Heckenberg and Jon Wells as well as Coach Brian McDermott as current staff that have recently re-signed with Harlequins Rugby League for 2009 onwards.

This announcement also follows the recent confirmation that Australian Chad Robinson will be joining Quins RL on a two year contract from 2009.
