Source: www.rabbitohs.com.auThe South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced the signing of former Sharks, Panthers, Eels, Dragons and Salford City prop forward Craig Stapleton for the remainder of the 2010 season today.
Stapleton, 31, has played 105 NRL games and 52 English Super League matches since debuting for the St George Dragons in 1998. He was selected in the 2006 Prime Minister's XIII to play Papua New Guinea and the Australian Kangaroos train on squad after a stellar season for the Panthers. He won Salford City's player of the year award in seasons 2008 and 2009.
"Craig will add depth to our forward stocks for the rest of 2010 and will help galvanise our forward pack with his tough style of play," Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.
"He has a high work-rate and doesn't shirk any of the hard work. He has shown he can play at the top level and we're looking forward to having him assist our charge towards the finals this year."
Stapleton will join the Rabbitohs this week and will play against the Brisbane Broncos this Sunday at 3pm at Suncorp Stadium.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have one of the richest histories in Rugby League. Established in 1908, the South Sydney Club has won 20 first grade premierships and provided 62 internationals for the Australian side, and have famously worn their cardinal red and myrtle green colours since inception. The rebirth of the Rabbitohs began on 7 June, 2006 through a new partnership between Russell Crowe, Peter Holmes a Court and the then 8000 Members of the Club. The Rabbitohs made the semi-finals for the first time in 18 years in 2007, and have strengthened their Ticketed Membership to over 11,000 with over 18,000 Total Members so far in 2010.

Source: www.sharks.com.auThe Sharks have secured the services of Penrith prop Bryan Norrie, signing him to a two-year contract.
The 192cm, 105kg forward will fill the void being left by the departure of Craig Stapleton who leaves to join Salford in England. Stapleton will play out the remainder of the 2007 season with the Sharks before joining the UK Super League club.
At 23 years of age, Norrie has become a regular member of the Panthers NRL side over the past two years, playing 25 games in the top grade despite battling injury throughout much of 2007.
Norrie, who hails from Forbes in country NSW and attended the traditional rugby league school Yanco Agricultural, first came to Sydney to play for St George Illawarra before eventually finding a home at the Penrith club.
Recognised as a dedicated trainer and a no nonsense forward with a high work rate, Norrie was a member of the Panthers starting side in their extra-time loss to the North Queensland Cowboys last week.
The addition of Norrie almost completes the Sharks front row puzzle for 2008. Norrie joins the experienced Ben Ross, young guns Luke Douglas and Jacob Selmes and the highly regarded Newcastle Knight prop Kade Snowden.
The Sharks have also confirmed reports of Stapleton leaving for the UK after he negotiated a release as a result of receiving a lucrative offer from Salford.
