Hull KR have signed Samoa international Misi Taulapapa from Sheffield Eagles.
The 29-year-old full-back or winger has spent the last two years in the Co-operative Championship with the Eagles but also has NRL experience with New Zealand Warriors and Cronulla.
"I'm excited," said Taulapapa, who has signed a 12-month deal. "It's a good opportunity for me to challenge myself against the best and I'm looking forward to it.
"It has been quite difficult coming from NRL to the Championship but I've just been trying to keep the faith, play hard and I've got an opportunity now to prove myself."
Taulapapa is Rovers' fourth new recruit for 2012, following the recruitment of Huddersfield Giants pair David Hodgson and Graeme Horne and Crusaders RL prop forward Ryan O'Hara, and is expected to be a straight replacement for Widnes-bound full-back Shaun Briscoe.
Rovers chief executive Mike Smith said: "Misi has got a real hunger to play at the top level again and we're glad he'll be doing that with us.
"He is primarily a full-back but his versatility will certainly be an asset to us and we look forward to him running out at Craven Park next year."

Harlequins have been crowned as the best disciplined club in the engage Super League for the second time in the four-year history of the Frontline Fair Play Index. They entered their last match of the 27-match league campaign level at the top of the table with matchday opponents Warrington Wolves and conceded two less points on the Fair Play Index to win the title.
In the Co-operative Championship, the Eagles beat off the challenge of Keighley Cougars and league leaders Featherstone Rovers to earn the accolade as best behaved club.
Jones-Bishop, who spent the 2010 season with the Quins on loan from Leeds Rhinos, and Taulapapa, formerly in the NRL with New Zealand Warriors and Cronulla Sharks, received the award of £5,000 worth of product at the headquarters of Frontline Bathrooms in Featherstone.
The presentation was made by Nick Hall, Director and Chief Executive, of Frontline Bathrooms, one the UK's leading suppliers to the bathroom industry.
