Source: www.qrl.com.auWynnum Manly coach Paul Green is expecting a fierce backlash from the Burleigh Bears when the Seagulls host the Gold Coast side in Sunday's round three clash at BMD Kougari Oval.
The Bears were beaten 32-6 by the Redcliffe Dolphins yesterday in a scoreline that caught many by surprise.
Intrust Super Cup fans were also left stunned by Wynnum Manly's ruthless performance against the Central Capras yesterday.
The Seagulls hammered the rebuilding Capras 84-6 at BMD Kougari Oval.
"It's important we just forget about that game ... it was a good boost to our for and against (record), but we've got to get our feet back on the ground starting on Tuesday at training because Burleigh will come to play," Green said.
After a tight opening which saw the Capras level at 6-all following an early Wynnum Manly try, the Seagulls clicked into full gear on their way to smashing a number of club records, including highest score and biggest winning margin.
"We dominated through the middle there and that gave blokes like Jake Granville plenty of room to move," Green said.
"I was pleased with our discipline and the way we were able to stick to our game."
Impressive recruit Sean Loxley cashed in with a four try haul, while premiership-winning halfback Matt Seamark made an encouraging return off the bench after minor off-season knee surgery.
For the Capras, skipper Tim Glasby never stopped trying but he'll need more support when the Central Queensland team plays Souths Logan in Gladstone this weekend.
WYNNUM MANLY SEAGULLS 84 (Sean Loxley 4, Matt Grieve 2, Junior Togia 2, Jake Granville 2, Peter Gubb, John Te Reo, Jacob Fauid, Luke Dalziel-Don, Dan Wallace tries; John Te Reo 7, Jacob Fauid 4, Jake Granville goals) def CQ CAPRAS 6 (Mitch Zornig try; Dan Pickering goal) at BMD Kougari Oval.

Source: www.broncos.com.auThe Ergon Energy Broncos have terminated the contracts of Ian Lacey and John Te Reo as a result of severe breaches of their club and NRL agreements.
The pair were allegedly involved in an incident in the Brisbane CBD early last Saturday morning, that resulted in a complaint to police.
After an internal inquiry by the club, which included co-operating with a police investigation, the decision has been made to end the association between the players and the Broncos.
"As a result of an incident early last Saturday morning, the club has carried out its own internal investigation, as well as co-operating with the police," said Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen today.
"And in consideration of the NRL contract and the Broncos' own Player Code of Conduct, we have determined there has been serious breaches of both agreements.
"As a result we have decided to terminate the contracts of both players."
Cullen and football manager Andrew Gee conducted a press conference in the boardroom of the Brisbane Broncos Football Club at 2.30pm this afternoon.
