Hull FC are proud to announce the signing of Australian International Shaun Berrigan on a four-year contract.

The man known as 'Berro' showed just what a talent he was in 2006 when he was a spearhead towards the Bronco's NRL premiership win, securing the Clive Churchill medal for his man of the match performance in the Grand Final. He was a member of the Queensland Origin winning squad of 2006 and 2007 and has collected 12 State of Origin appearances along side his 12 International Caps.

Berrigan said: "I have had a fantastic career at the Broncos, winning premierships, playing for Queensland and of course for Australia. I am really excited to be joining Hull FC and playing in the Super League and Challenge Cup. I am excited by their plans, I believe the club has a fantastic future and I am looking forward to being a part of it for the next 4 years."

Head Coach Peter Sharp said: "I am very excited to have signed Shaun he will bring speed, toughness and leadership to our team. He is an exceptional rugby league player and a tremendous acquisition for Hull FC."

Chief Executive James Rule said: "To have signed a player of Shaun's calibre is a clear indication of the ambition of this club. Shaun is at the top of his game, a current Australian International and member of the series winning Queensland State of Origin squad.

"I am confident he will have a significant impact on our club both on and off the field. He has exceptional versatility in that he can cover hooker, centre and second row as he proved in this year's State of Origin series. I'm sure he will become a crowd favourite with the Black & White faithful."

To rusty, if you don't rate Shaun then thats your dumb ass opinion. You obviously have no idea of the game rugby league as he is a fantastic player, as are others who have gone overseas to play. These guys are broadening their career, maybe you should try moving away from the computer once in your life and venture outside as well!!!
All I can say is good on Shaun for doing something new. I love the Broncos and it is disapointing to see him leave, but he will only shine in England.

The Broncos are starting to bleed a few players - Tate and Berrigan signing elsewhere, Civoniceva refusing a deal and looking for a new club, Thorn set to retire and Dane Carlaw tipped to leave. They have signed Wallace though haven't they?

The broncs losing berrigan and tate for next year that's going to hurt the alot, the bronc are very good ad developing players and not neccersarily bringing them in, and it doesn't seem like this next crop of young broncs are as good as other young products in the league, i'm predicting lean years for the broncs in the near future

He is a good player but has been playing this year waiting for a new deal. He didn't want to get injured while he didn't have a contract with anyone for next year so had been playing about 50%. Let's hope with this sorted he can actually play well enough to warrant selection in the third Origin game. Ability-wise he is good enough, but has got through this year on reputation alone.

Hull could have done no better: Berrigan has pound for pound been the best player in the NRL for years, and the most consistent. I agree with the comment about the salary-cap, which has cost the Broncos several premierships, and would like nothing more than to see it abolished.

I'm actually a Shaun Berrigan fan and it's sad he's going overseas, probably another example of our shithouse salary cap in the NRL

I couldn't care less. I've never really rated Shaun Berrigan and this just reinforces the fact that the European Super League is just a competition where older players can wind up their careers with a huge paycheck. Berrigan may be a representative player but I can think of many different players who deserved to play instead of him.

Now there a decent signing, they will get value for money from this guy.
