The CFMEU Canberra Raiders were out muscled at Canberra Stadium yesterday, with the Manly Sea Eagles coming back from an early deficit to win by 46-30 in front of a solid 14,400 strong crowd in the Raiders 200th match at the ground.
The Raiders overcame a shaky start to take an early 12-0 lead, and should have taken an 18-0 lead into halftime, but some poor decision making saw a couple of tries go begging for the Green Machine, and Manly capitalised by scoring a try of their own to trail by just 12-6 at the break.
The Raiders remained in the contest for a good portion of the second half, until a freakish try from former Raiders Michael Robertson sparked an onslaught from the competition leaders, and the Raiders fell away at the back end of the game.
MANLY SEA EAGLES 46 (Michael Robertson 3, Matt Ballin, Steven Bell, Michael Monaghan, Brett Stewart, Anthony Watmough tries; Jamie Lyon 6 Matt Orford goals) defeated
CANBERRA RAIDERS 30 (Neville Costigan, Michael Dobson, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Lincoln Withers, William Zillman tries; Michael Dobson 5 goals) at Canberra Stadium

The Raiders began their tenancy at Canberra Stadium (formerly known as Bruce Stadium) on March 16, 1990 when they defeated the St George Dragons by 26-10.
In an amazing home record since that day the Green Machine has gone on to record a staggering 143 victories from 199 matches, with just 4 draws and 52 losses on their home turf.
This equates to a winning percentage of almost 73 per cent, making them one of the hardest road trips in the NRL.
In that time there have been many wonderful stories and triumphs folding out during the cooler months in Canberra, including the retirements of club legends Mal Meninga and Laurie Daley, Jason Crokers gutsy effort against the Roosters, and of course the famous snow match against the Wests Tigers in 2000.
