After a thrashing and news of an impending exodus of players throughout the week the Knights put the off-field dramas behind them as they put together a gallant performance to defeat the Sydney Roosters 22-18 at BlueTongue Stadium in Gosford.
The young Knights led magnificently by Danny Buderus, fought from 18-10 behind with 20 minutes remaining piling on two converted tries in the space of eight minutes to secure the victory.
Brad Tighe scored the first try after the Knights found the Roosters short outwide and a magnificent ball from Adam Woolmough put fullback Nathan Hinton over moments later.
Earlier the Roosters opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after young halfback Mitchell Pearce sliced through a perfect grubber for Anthony Minchiello to collect and score besides the posts.
James McManus responded for the Knights with a try in the corner in the 16th minute levelling the scores at 6-all.
The scores remained deadlocked until just minutes before halftime when the Knights took a 10-6 lead in with a try to Cory Paterson following a superb kick from debutant halfback Luke Walsh filling in for the injured Jarrod Mullen.
Eight minutes into the second half great hands put Amos Roberts down the sideline before kicking infield for Roosters chasers. A perfect bounce sat up for Braith Anasta who collected and scored under the posts.
The Roosters found themselves well on top when Mitchell Pearce intercepted and raced 70m to score in the corner to put the Roosters ahead 18-10.
But they were unable to compose themselves in the final 20 minutes as the Knights surged back to the lead.
The loss sees the Roosters stuck in last place on the table with three wins and eight losses from their eleven games.

Teenage Sydney Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce has been recalled to the Roosters starting side after last week playing in the Newtown Premier League outfit.
Pearce was omitted on match eve against the Sharks with Jamie Soward coming in as halfback only to leave for the Dragons the following day.
Now the Roosters have invested plenty of faith into young Pearce with Soward and Josh Lewis both leaving the club in the space of a couple of weeks. Lewis joined the Gold Coast Titans two weeks ago and played five-eighth in their victory against South Sydney on the weekend.
The change of Pearce for Soward is the only change to the Roosters side that took the field in their 13-12 golden point victory over the Sharks.
