Source: www.superleague.co.ukA superb one-two move between Paul King and Lee Radford secured Hull FC's first engage Super League win this season and condemned luckless Huddersfield Giants to a fifth straight defeat.
King broke from deep on 55 minutes with the visitors holding a slender 10-6 lead and passed to Radford before collecting the return as he continued his run to the try line.
Danny Tickle converted to end a run of three consecutive defeats for Hull following an opening round draw against Catalans Dragons.
Huddersfield worked hard in a gritty contest between two struggling sides but their performance was summed up by two crucial missed opportunities in the second half.
The Giants had taken an early lead through Chris Thorman's converted try and went in at the break at 6-6 after Shaun Briscoe levelled with a converted touchdown on 29 minutes.
The home side should have capitalised on some fine attacking play in the second half but they were let down by poor decision-making at the crucial moment.
Paul Reilly broke down the left on 46 minutes and should have put Matt Gardner away into the corner for an easy try but Reilly held onto the ball for too long and was tackled.
Soon after Matt Sing took Sid Domic's final pass to put Hull ahead for the first time with the Giants going on to miss a great chance to draw level on 62 minutes.
Reilly crossed the line but was ruled by referee Steve Ganson to have taken a forward pass from Thorman in the move's build-up play.
Then came the King and Radford move, meaning another converted try from Thorman in the last minute was not enough for the home side to turn the result around.
