Aspley did a sterling job shutting down first-placed Redcliffe at Bishop Park on Saturday, running out convincing 20-4 victors.
The young Broncos never gave their higher-placed opponents a chance, extending a 10-0 halftime lead in a keenly-fought affair.
Fullback Denan Kemp was the standout in attack, while backrower Derrick Watkins scored a try in his 100th Queensland Cup match.
It was a marked turnaround from Aspley's loss to competition leaders North Queensland the previous week, putting the club right back in the premiership frame.
The only bad news for the Broncos came with ankle injuries to Sam Thaiday and Craig Frawley.
"After last week I was pretty happy with that," said Aspley coach Mark Gee.
"We toughed it out and did it for each other.
"Our first half was good apart from when we were going in to their try line. Besides that I thought we controlled the game."
It was a big effort from Aspley, who were facing a Redcliffe side that had three players - Shane Perry, Nick Emmett and Mick Roberts - who have played NRL for the Brisbane Broncos this year.
In a torrid opening 20 minutes, both sides found mistakes and the game was scoreless.
But Aspley centre Jamie Simpson changed that in the 28th minute when he jinked his way over close to the line.
Kemp then scored what was an unusual try for him, taking the ball one off the ruck and bustling over like a front rower.
Thaiday rolled his ankle just after halftime, an injury that could rule him out of Brisbane's NRL match against the Bulldogs on Friday night.
Redcliffe got back to within a try when Rory Bromley scored after a long Emmett break in the 48th minute.
But the Broncos went out again when McConnell took the line on and scored in the 55th minute.
Watkins sealed it when he ran a great route and sprinted through a gap to score with 16 minutes left.
Gee reserved particular praise for prop Nick Kenny, who lasted through the first 60 minutes of the game.
Aspley's next assignment will not be until July 1 against Souths Logan, with a bye and City Country weekend keeping the Broncos out of action. Redcliffe faces the Magpies straight up next Sunday, welcoming them to Dolphin Oval at 3pm.
ASPLEY 20 (Denan Kemp, Derrick Watkins, Jamie Simpson, Brent McConnell tries; Ben Green 2 goals) d REDCLIFFE 4 (Rory Bromley try) at Bishop Park.
