Catalans breeze past Featherstone
Sun April 1, 2007

Catalans Dragons roared to an expected Carnegie Challenge Cup victory against minnows Featherstone Rovers at Stade Gilbert Brutus.

The Perpignan-based engage Super League side weathered the visitors' early storm to assert their superiority over the National League Two outfit in this fourth-round tie.

Adam Mogg and Cyril Gossard claimed a brace each in the 12-try mauling, with Thomas Bosc landing 11 kicks as well as crossing himself.

Vincent Duport opened the scoring with a fifth-minute touchdown before Rovers hit back through Scott Glasell's try four minutes later.

Stuart Dickens' conversion put the Yorkshire side ahead but Andrew Bentley crossed to give the Dragons a lead they never looked like losing again.

David Ferriol, Adel Fellous, Younes Khattabi and Alex Chan all touched down before the interval as the game was ended as a meaningful contest, with Bosc converting all but Duport's try.

Gossard's 51st-minute effort was the first of the second period and he followed it with a second five minutes later.

Kicking king Bosc was next to register, followed by Mogg's first.

Steve Dooler's reply for Featherstone, converted by Glasell, was nothing but a consolation and Remi Casty soon hit back for Dragons.

All that remained was for Mogg to score his second and Bosc converted to make it six from six for the half.
