Manly have named centre Steve Matai for Saturday night's clash against Penrith despite facing a one-match suspension. Matai was charged for a high tackle offence following the Sea Eagles 28-10 victory against Gold Coast last night in a heated and aggressive clash.

The Sea Eagles now lead Melbourne by eight points in the for and against stakes and the late try could be crucial in deciding who gets the minor premiership. Manly needs to beat Penrith and hope that the Storm's victory margin is nine points less than what the Sea Eagles achieve against Penrith.

Manly could finish as low as 3rd should they lose to the Panthers and Cronulla and Melbourne both record victories.

In some ways Manly will be hoping to play all four weeks of the finals series so their favourite son Steve Menzies can achieve 350 first grade matches. Menzies can only pass Magpies and Bulldogs champion Terry Lamb is if Manly don't have a week off in the finals.
