The match probably won't make any highlight reels at the end of the season but you get the feeling the Redcliffe Dolphins aren't about to complain.
After crashing to a 20-point loss to Souths Logan the previous week, the Dolphins were just happy to have another two competition points added to their tally.
In a dour affair, Redcliffe edged out the Easts Tigers 6-4 at Dolphin Oval on a windy Saturday afternoon to secure outright fifth on an intriguing Wizard Cup ladder.
"It wasn't the best, there was a lot of dropped ball but it was good to get a win," Redcliffe five-eighth Marty Turner told ABC TV.
"We needed it. We haven't been going too flash. Defensively we have been struggling so it was good to hold them to four points."
While both sides were willing in defence, the ball control and execution in attack was poor.
Along with plenty of dropped ball, the match was littered with penalties and silly mistakes.
But Redcliffe centre Tim Yee was one man who made no mistake when presented with a try-scoring opportunity midway through the second half.
After Turner and Craig Priestly put him in space, Yee carried a Tigers defender over the line and slammed the ball down.
The 57th minute try was converted by Turner, whose reliable boot gave the Dolphins a lead they would never relinquish.
Redcliffe did however trail 4-0 at half-time.
A try in the corner to powerhouse winger Tangi Ropati put the Tigers in front 4-0 in the 18th minute.
Ropati scored from a slick movement which featured boom prop Fred Tila and young centre Luke Wright.
The Tigers had several great chances towards the end of the first half but Redcliffe held firm.
While Redcliffe faces a tough road trip to Rockhampton next weekend, the Tigers are back at home after consecutive away matches.
