Source: www.qrl.com.auExcited Souths Logan Magpies coach Paul Bramley was in awe of his team's destructive second half blitz at Bishop Park today.
The Magpies rattled up 40 points to crush the young Norths Devils 46-8 in their round 10 Wizard Cup clash.
"I've never seen a second half of footy better," Bramley enthused.
"Our second half was as good as anything we've done all year."
The final term blitz completed an astonishing turnaround for the Magpies, who fell behind 4-0 early in the game and only posted their first points in the dying minutes of the first half.
Bramley conceded the enthusiastic Norths outfit was the better team in the opening period.
"I'll give Norths a wrap ... they were very good in the first half," he said.
"They were all kids having a crack. They put us under a lot of pressure and I think the Norths Devils should be proud of what they did."
The Magpies most destructive players were centre Brett Kelly and back-rower Josh White.
Kelly snared a hat-trick of tries, while White bagged a double for the red-hot Magpies.
Souths Logan's support play was a feature of the win, which was achieved without Canberra Raiders players Dane Tilse and Ben Jones.
Tilse and Jones had been pencilled in to play for the Magpies but the pair earned late call ups to the Raiders' NRL side.
Jones, who has already donned the Magpies strip on numerous occasions this year, sent the Magpies team a pre-match text in a show of support.
The act of goodwill was heartening for Bramley, who is thrilled with the progress of Souths Logan's relationship with the Raiders.
The Magpies have now joined the Ipswich Jets and the Northern Pride at the top of the competition table.
Bramley's side can now look forward to hosting the Burleigh Bears at Meakin Park on Saturday.
"Mal Meninga will be handing out the jumpers before the game," Bramley revealed.
"To have a legend like Mal there is great. I can't wait to see the look on the guys' faces."
