Source: www.warriors.co.nzVodafone Junior Warriors prop Russell Packer will miss tomorrow night's National Youth Competition clash against the North Queensland Cowboys at Mt Smart Stadium.
A foot injury has sidelined the 18-year-old player for this game but he is expected to be available again for next weekend's encounter with the Bulldogs.
Packer's absence means Mataupu Poching (20), recently re-signed by the club, moves off the interchange bench to start in the front row alongside the well-performed Leeson Ah Mau.
Ah Mau (18) has played every one of the side's 15 matches so far this season. Utility Elijah Taylor is the only other squad member who hasn't missed a game.
Returning to the side after an injury lay-off is winger Thomas Ah Van (17), who scored six tries in four games earlier in the season. He'll team up with his brother Patrick (20) for the first time in the Vodafone Junior Warriors; the older Ah Van, a 39-game NRL player, has again been included in the centres for his third NYC appearance.
Making his debut on the wing will be 19-year-old Jason Cook, a former Northern Region secondary schools rugby union representative.
After five straight victories, the Vodafone Junior Warriors lost 34-45 in their last outing against Wests Tigers two weeks ago. They remain sixth on the points table.
