Tue April 28, 2009 Source: www.raiders.com.auThe CFMEU Canberra Raiders will be without in form forward Tom Learoyd-Lahrs for this weekend's important match against the Panthers at Canberra Stadium, after he took the early guilty plea today for a grade one high tackle at the NRL judiciary. Learoyd-Lahrs has been replaced on the Raiders bench by Nigel Plum, who made a successful return from a rib injury last weekend for Souths Logan in the Queensland Cup. The Green Machine will also be without Troy Thompson this weekend after he re-injured his knee against the Bulldogs, with Scott Logan coming back into the side to start for Thompson. Raiders Coach David Furner said the inclusion of Logan and Plum would be a boost for the Raiders, with Learoyd-Lahrs and Thompson both expected to be fit and available following the bye. "Tom will take the early plea and will only miss the one match while Thommo's injury has been seen as being minor so both should be back and ready after the bye in round nine," Furner said. "You don't lose anything with Scott Logan and Nigel Plum back in the team so we won't have to alter our game plan too much." Furner said the Raiders were already looking forward to the match against Penrith on Saturday night and said a win was vital as they headed into the round nine bye. "We need the two points and I know the guys are keen to get out there Saturday night and get a win at home," he said. "The Panthers played well against the Titans on Monday night so we will be working hard this week on shutting them down."
