The Warriors have never achieved much success in trips to the Australian Capital Territory.
Perhaps it is the extra leg of the journey after flying into Sydney that has proved a psychological hurdle for the Auckland-based outfit but in 14 years, the Warriors have managed only two wins in Canberra.
The first was during the Super League season of 1997 when they managed a 31-24 victory at Canberra Stadium while in 2001 the Warriors won 22-10 in the only NRL match ever played at Manuka Oval.
The rest of the time the Warriors have trudged home defeated. Admittedly, the last three losses have been narrow but when they make the trip to Canberra Stadium this Sunday, coach Ivan Cleary will be counting on his men reversing the run of outs.
The Raiders were decimated by the Storm at Olympic Park last Monday night but history shows that teams beaten heavily away from home often rally strongly in their next appearance on home soil.
They will confront a Warriors side whose confidence is also at a low ebb after winning only one of their last seven matches.
Even though the Raiders are backing up after a Monday night game, take a Canberra try as First Scoring Play ($2-05) and a Raiders' victory by 1-12 points ($3-15).
Players to consider for First Tryscorer include Joel Monaghan ($11), Justin Carney ($13) and Adrian Purtell ($13) for Canberra or Denan Kemp ($11), Wade McKinnon ($13) and Manu Vatuvei ($9) for the Warriors.

Source: www.raiders.com.auCanberra Raiders skipper Alan Tongue and centre Justin Carney are in doubt for Sunday's important clash against the Warriors at Canberra Stadium, after sustaining injuries in the side's 40-6 loss to the Storm last night at Olympic Park.
Tongue injured his right thumb mid-way through the second half against Melbourne, while Carney picked up a sternum injury late in the contest.
Both players will have scans today to determine the extent of any damage but Tongue said he remained optimistic of playing Sunday.
"It doesn't feel too bad so I'm hoping there's just some minor damage," Tongue said. "I'll wait for the results from the scan, it is sore but hopefully it will be Ok."
Raiders Coach David Furner said his side needed to turn their form around quickly if they are to topple the Warriors at home on Sunday and said there may be changes later in the week to the team announced today.
"Obviously after only playing last night it's hard to name any changes at the team before looking at the vision of the game but we'll reassess the line-up later in the week," Furner said. "I know the coaching staff and the players are disappointed with last night's effort, and we'll be looking to rectify it with a win Sunday."
The Raiders will return to the training paddock on Wednesday afternoon, with a short turnaround before Sunday's match at 2.00pm in Canberra.
