Source: www.weststigers.com.auWests Tigers players will strap on yellow armbands for the NRL match in a show of support to men who have survived cancer, those currently facing the cancer fight and to remember men who have lost their lives.
Call To Arms is one of Cancer Council's newest fundraising events that offers sporting groups of all ages and codes the opportunity to help raise funds and awareness for cancer - a disease that will affect one in two Australian men.
Sporting clubs are invited to hold a Call To Arms match in July where players wear yellow armbands, and run fundraising activities. Last year more than $350,000 was raised nationally.
For every try Wests Tigers score against Penrith, club sponsors UD Trucks, Kos Sports and Betfair will each donate $100 per try.
Wests Tigers lock Corey Payne and prop Keith Galloway are the club's ambassadors for the Call To Arms campaign.
All funds raised through Call To Arms go towards helping to prevent cancers in men, finding new treatments and funding support programs for men in need. Last year, the Wests Tigers Call To Arms game raised more than $10,000 for The Cancer Council. To get your team involved, visit calltoarms.com.au or call 1300 65 65 85.
