Aaron Payne steps in to captain the side in Johnathan Thurston's absence, while Ben Harris makes a return to NRL with a spot on the bench.
Ty Williams moves into the fullback position in place of the injured Matthew Bowen, who will be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks with broken ribs.
Assistant coaches Michael Crawley and Matt Parish will run a tight training schedule this week in the absence of Maroons assistant coach Neil Henry to prepare the side for their round 15 match against the last-placed Roosters.
