Source: www.abc.net.auBrisbane has ended a run of four straight defeats in entertaining fashion, twice coming from behind to conjure a 28-14 win over the Warriors at Lang Park.
Enthusiasm in attack and some liberal ball movement from the Broncos produced four second-half tries after trailing 8-4 at the break as New Zealand struggled to contain Brisbane's left flank and rampant off-loading.
With Karmichael Hunt nursing an ankle injury, young full-back Josh Hoffman deputised admirably with a try after the re-start and a reliable showing in defence.
The Broncos welcomed back Justin Hodges from injury and he proved to be a constant threat on the right-hand side inside Israel Folau, who was taken off in the second half with an ankle problem.
Joel Clinton also presents an injury concern following a heavy shoulder charge from Jerome Ropati late in the contest that left the Broncos prop on the ground for several minutes.
Clinton will undergo facial x-rays on Friday night, while Folau will also head to hospital for x-rays on his right ankle.
After conceding early in the second half, Queensland prop Steve Price put the Warriors back into the lead at 14-10 when he scored his second try of the match.
However that would prove to be New Zealand's final meaningful contribution as the Broncos ran roughshod with Darren Lockyer coolly orchestrating a rampaging attacking performance.
Particularly commendable were the efforts of forwards Dave Taylor, Corey Parker and Tonie Caroll, in his return to the NRL, while Sam Thaiday was nearly untouchable with ball in hand.
"We knew that if we could stick through that as we did we could score points on them," Thaiday told ABC Grandstand after registering 39 tackles, 12 hit-ups and three tackle busts.
"We've got a week off now, hopefully we can come back from the bye fresh and ready to go again."
Thaiday said he was concerned when Folau went off and gave a glowing assessment of Carroll's first match back for the Broncos, who appeared in bright yellow strips to promote Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Foundation for cancer.
"Izzy is a great try scorer for us and does a lot of work in attack coming out of our end," he said.
"That (match) shows the grit and courage Tonie Carroll has - to come out and play the way we he did tonight."
Brisbane: 28 (I Folau, J Hoffman, L Setu, A Winterstein, S Michaels tries; P Wallace 4/6 goals)
Warriors: 14 (S Price 2 tries; K Locke 3/3 goals)

Source: www.broncos.com.auISRAEL Folau is expected to miss up to eight weeks of football after x-rays last night revealed he has a fractured ankle.
Folau has a fracture of the fibula after coming from the field early in the second half of last night's win over the New Zealand Warriors.
The plan by Brisbane Broncos' medical staff is to put him in a cast tomorrow. That cast will encase his foot for two weeks when the bone will be x-rayed again.
If it is judged the injury is healing sufficiently well, then Israel will be placed in a hinged ankle brace to complete his recovery.
Prop Joel Clinton received two head knocks last night and was sent to hospital after the completion of the game.
He was checked and released late last night and spent the night at home.
He has reported to club medical staff this morning and while he has some facial swelling, is expected to be fine for the Broncos' next match, against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on July 17.
The Broncos have the bye next weekend and there are no other injury concerns.
