Source: www.englandrl.co.ukEngland bowed out of the World Cup as another inept defensive performance in Brisbane condemned them to a 32-22 defeat.
New Zealand ran rings around England in the first 23 minutes to race into a 16-0 lead - courtesy of tries from Sam Perrett, Jerome Ropati and Lance Hohaia.
England briefly hit back before half-time, scoring tries through captain Jamie Peacock and Danny McGuire to cut the deficit to 16-10, but an error-strewn performance continued after the break.
Bronson Harrison, Ropati and Benji Marshall added further tries for New Zealand - rendering McGuire's second and Martin Gleeson's effort irrelevant.
Pryce immediately made an impact from his new position, taking McGuire's pass and giving Gleeson the chance to force his way over wide out.
Burrow kicked the difficult conversion to close the gap to six points once more. But the fumbles continued, and New Zealand clinched victory after taking advantage of another defensive howler.
McGuire dropped Fein's kick on his own line - and when Gardner was 'nutmegged' Ropati pounced on the ball for a soft try, to which Marshall added the goal.
McGuire jinked his way over for a second try six minutes from the end, and Burrow landed a third goal. But the Kiwis had the final say when Marshall took a pass from Ropati that deflected off McGuire to score his side's sixth try.
