Auckland has the bye.
NORTH SYDNEY BEARS v BANKSTOWN CITY BULLS
Saturday June 20 @ North Sydney Oval 1.35pmBankstown coach Terry Lamb will need his team to forget their shock loss to the Newtown Jets last weekend and focus on an ever improving North Sydney Bears side that has only lost one of their last six matches. Lamb will have to do it without injured stars Conrad Ta'akimoeaka (knee, season), Lee Te Maari (knee, Round 15) and Charlie Leaeno (suspension, Round 15). Such is the luxury Lamb enjoys he has been able to replace the injured Te Maari by reshuffling his backline. He has moved Matt Utai into the centres, pushed out Trent Cutler from halfback to the wing and brought Ben Barba off the bench to fill in the halfback role. Bears coach Wayne Lambkin will be confident his charges can match it with the strong Bulls forward pack especially after he received word from Souths that he would have David Tyrell at his disposal.
NEWTOWN JETS v CENTRAL COAST STORM
Saturday June 20 @ Henson Park 3pmNewtown is coming, Hear the Bluebags humming, NEWTOWN - NEWTOWN, Newtown is flying - there'll be no denying, NEWTOWN - NEWTOWN! Ricky May wrote the words and music of the famous Newtown theme song in the early 1970s and he would have been proud of the rendition the Jets gave last weekend after their 32-28 point upset win over the Bankstown City Bulls. The Jets, led supremely from the front by new signing Liam Foran, outclassed their more fancied opponents in every facet of play and confirmed them as the new giant-killers in the NSW Cup competition. The Jets now have a chance to make it four wins for the season when they take on an undermanned Central Coast Storm. The Storm are likely to be without regular starters James Maloney and Ryan Tandy after both were named on an extended Melbourne Storm bench by Craig Bellamy.
CRONULLA SHARKS v WENTWORTHVILLE
Saturday June 20 @ Toyota Stadium 3pmCronulla will be looking to bounce back after a 17-10 defeat at the hands of the North Sydney Bears last weekend whilst Wentworthville we be looking to recreate their shut out performance of Shellharbour where they defeated the Dragons 28-0. If Cronulla want to take home the two points they will need to stop a few Wentworthville players hell bent on making a statement to Parramatta coach Daniel Anderson. Josh Cordoba, Broderick Wright, Ben Smith, Etu Uaisele and Taulima Tautai have all played NRL this season and with the Eels struggling to post points against the Tigers on Monday night all of these players will be looking to impress. The Cronulla NSW Cup side continues to be a shining light for a club that hasn't had much to smile about this season. Alex Mellville's side can knock Wentworthville off the top of the table and if results go their way can possibly even replace them in the competition lead.
WESTERN SUBURBS v BALMAIN RYDE EASTWOOD TIGERS
Saturday June 20 @ Campbelltown Stadium 3pmBalmain has not named their usual halfback and captain in Josh Lewis again this week. Lewis was expected to return from surgery on his knee this weekend but it may be a case of Balmain coach Paul Fletcher playing some shadow games with his counterpart Leo Epifania. Whispers out of the NSW Residents selectors meeting last night suggest Western Suburbs fullback Shannon Gallant along with the Bulls' Brent Crisp are in the mix when it comes to fullback position for the game against the QLD Residents team which will be played before State of Origin game three at Suncorp Stadium. Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens will be watching this game with interest. Sheens has already pulled Blake Ayshford, Willie Mataka, Peni Tagive, Al Schirnack and Rhys Hanbury to play in the NRL so there is no doubt he will be taking a keen interest in this match.
SHELLHARBOUR DRAGONS v WINDSOR WOLVES
Sunday June 21 @ Ron Costello Oval 3.30pmWith only one point separating the teams on the competition table Shellharbour will be looking to break a five game losing streak and leapfrog the Windsor side into ninth position. Windsor has suffered somewhat of a similar form slump, with only a 24-all draw against Wentworthville in Round 8 separating them from their opponents this weekend. In the last 160 minutes of football the Dragons have leaked 72 points whilst in attack they haven't been able to post a point. This week will prove even harder because the Dragons will be without their leading tryscorer Michael Lett who is serving a suspension for a lifting tackle until Round 15. Windsor is still without the services of prop Adam Woolnough who looks likely to return in Round 16 from a shoulder injury.
