Source: www.superleague.co.ukCatalans Dragons ran in seven tries as they kept their engage Super League play-off hopes alive by wearing down a tough Harlequins RL side in Perpignan.
Dimitri Pelo crossed twice for the French side while Olivier Elima, Thomas Bosc, Jean-Philippe Baile, Steven Bell and Casey McGuire also touched down in a hard-fought encounter in fierce heat.
Quins defended superbly for most of the game but were eventually edged out despite tries from Ryan Esders, Luke Gale and Gareth Haggerty.
The victory was Catalans' fifth in seven games and lifted them to 10th while Quins have now slipped to eighth after five successive defeats.
Catalans dominated the opening half but led only 8-0 at the break after a brilliant rearguard action from the Londoners.
The French broke through in the 14th minute when Elima held off Will Sharp to touch down after being put through by Bosc.
Yet it was not until the stroke of half-time that the hosts were able to double their advantage as the outstanding Greg Bird offloaded to put Pelo over in the corner.
The Dragons appeared to take a decisive lead early in the second half as Baile shrugged off two tackles to find Bosc, who in turn set up Pelo's second.
Jamie O'Callaghan had a try disallowed for a forward pass as Harlequins responded but the visitors did get on the scoreboard as Esders, on loan from Hull Kingston Rovers, pounced from a Matt Gafa kick.
The recovery was brief as Bosc extended the Dragons' advantage with a superb individual effort, twice kicking forward and regathering to go under the posts.
Gale intercepted to race half the length of the field for Harlequins' second but the game drifted beyond them as Baile powered in from an Elima pass.
Bell stretched the advantage further by scoring in the corner after Clint Greenshields cleverly spread the play wide.
Haggerty barged over from close range for a Harlequins consolation but the hosts had the final word as McGuire found his way to the line.
Bosc capped a fine individual performance by kicking his fifth goal.

Source: www.quins.co.ukBrian McDermott has named his 19 man squad that will fly to Perpignan for Sunday's Super League encounter with Catalans Dragons.
Included in the Harlequins squad for the first time is 18-year-old Tony Gigot who will be hoping to make his Harlequins debut on home soil. Since arriving from Sporting Olympique Avignon in May, the French stand-off has been training with the first team and putting in impressive performances at Reserve Grade.
Last year, Gigot played a vital role in SAO's successful promotion campaign and has represented France at junior level.
Elsewhere, Jason Golden passed a fitness test this morning and returns to the squad after a two matches absence due to an ankle injury whilst young Londoners Jamie O'Callaghan, Luke May and Dave Williams are also included.
Joe Mbu and Luke Williamson will remain in London as their partners are both due to give birth this weekend.
Harlequins currently occupy sixth place in the Super League, tied with four other clubs on 20 points, however McDermott says his side are not paying any attention to league position.
"Momentum is the important thing for us at the moment, not league position. However we play, we need something to build upon for the following week. Our defence against Huddersfield last week was an improvement on the week before, and we'll look to take that further this week.
"As soon as you take your eye off the ball by looking at league positions and relying on other teams you get too nervous and anxious and I'm not sure that it works."
The 19 man squad in full: Tony Clubb, Ryan Esders, Matt Gafa, Luke Gale, Jason Golden, Tony Gigot, Gareth Haggerty, Ben Kaye, Luke May, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Chris Melling, Jamie O'Callaghan, Chad Robinson, Will Sharp, Dylan Skee, Karl Temata, Danny Ward, Jon Wells, Dave Williams.
