Source: www.cowboys.com.auToyota Cowboys games record holder Matthew Bowen will remain at the club until at least the end of the 2013 NRL season after agreeing to a new contract with North Queensland.
The 29-year-old has been in superb form for the Cowboys this season, helping the club to third on the NRL ladder with five rounds remaining.
Earlier this year, he broke life member Paul Bowman's record for most NRL games played for the Cowboys and on Friday night against Canterbury, he will play his 220th game for the club.
He is also only 21 points away from reaching 500 points in his NRL career.
The fullback said he was happy to have his contract negotiations out of the way and he is looking forward to this year's finals series, as well as playing for the Cowboys for at least another two years.
"This is a great club to be part of and being a North Queensland boy, it's just special being part of the Cowboys," he said.
"We have a great list of talent here, and coming through our under-20s and junior programs, so I'm looking forward to being part of it for the next two years. "
Toyota Cowboys General Manager - Football Peter Parr said securing Bowen for another two years was fantastic news for the Cowboys.
"To many people, Matthew epitomises the Cowboys," he said.
"He is a very popular man not only in North Queensland, but in the rugby league world in general, for what he brings to our game.
"His career has been a great story and we're happy it's going to continue with us.
"I'm sure there are going to be thousands of people excited to hear that Matthew will be staying at the Cowboys."
The Cowboys also announced today that Sydney Roosters centre Kane Linnett had signed for the next two years, while prop forward Leeson Ah Mau will leave the club at the end of this year to join the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Source: www.cowboys.com.auForward Leeson Ah Mau is the only addition to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys' squad for Saturday night's round 21 NRL clash against Penrith at Dairy Farmers Stadium.
Ah Mau was today included on a five-man bench by coach Neil Henry, who was able to select all 17 players who took part in the come-from-behind 28-20 win against the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park last Saturday night.
St George Illawarra's loss to Canberra last night leaves the fourth-placed Cowboys just one point behind third place with six rounds of the home and away season remaining.
Penrith is in ninth place, one win outside the top eight, after losing to Manly at the weekend.
Kick off for the match is 7.30pm.
There's good news on the injury front for the Cowboys, with long-term absentees Scott Bolton (calf) and Michael Bani (ankle) expected to make their return to the playing field in the Intrust Super Cup this weekend.
Bolton and Bani will play for the Northern Pride against the Ipswich Jets at Barlow Park in Cairns on Saturday evening.
