Hull FC have lifted their suspension on new signing Martin Aspinwall after he was punished in court for being drunk and disorderly.
The 30-year-old former Wigan Warriors, Huddersfield Giants and Castleford Tigers second rower, who has yet to play a match for Hull after signing for them in the close season, will return to pre-season training next week after his club suspension was lifted.
Aspinwall was suspended indefinitely pending an internal investigation by the club and the outcome of police charges following an incident earlier this month.
Yesterday he was given a £300 fine by Hull magistrates after being found guilty of being drunk and aggressive on December 18 and has also been fined by his club.
Hull are still reeling from the suspension of former player Martin Gleeson for failing a drugs test and former chief executive James Rule and ex-conditioner Ben Cooper for their part in the affair.
However, Hull director of rugby Shaun McRae said the club were satisfied that Aspinwall was guilty of a minor misdemeanour and he would be welcomed back.
He said: "Following an extensive investigation into the issue which occurred involving Martin, we are confident that this was only a small incident and the fine and suspension more than satisfies any suitable punishment.
"It seems his previous record has probably gone against him in this instance. However, he understands he has done wrong and must accept the consequences of this.
"Whilst it may only be a minor affair, it is a timely reminder to Martin and the rest of the squad that certain behaviour is not acceptable and will be dealt with accordingly.
Aspinwall spent five weeks in prison this summer for dangerous driving, four weeks after receiving a suspended sentence for assault.
McRae added: "We have had lengthy discussions with Martin since he arrived at the club about his opportunity to rebuild his career here and the fact he needs to be a role model to our fans and he has consistently echoed his commitment to serving the club and its supporters with his performance this coming season.
"That will be his focus in the coming weeks as he rejoins the squad and looks to try and earn a place in Peter Gentle's side for the forthcoming fixtures."

Source: www.hullfc.comHull FC have added another forward to their pack with the arrival of former Great Britain International Martin Aspinwall, who has signed a one-year deal.
The strong and powerful second rower will add plenty of aggression and physicality to Hull's pack, which can now boast eight top quality forwards, including Aussie hitman Mark O'Meley, Tongan's Sam Moa and Willie Manu, fellow former GB star Andy Lynch, goal kicker Danny Tickle and young stars Eamon O'Carroll and Joe Westerman, the latter the England Knights captain.
Aspinwall, who finished last season at Castleford Tigers, has been at the centre of a number of discussions from rival clubs, but is delighted his patience has held out to secure a sought after move to Hull FC.
"Once I was told of their interest, that was the place I wanted to go," said the Wigan born player, who has just turned 30 and has been biding his time with a number of potential suitors on the table.
"They have signed some good players, there is a new coach, a new regime and it all seems very positive from the outside so it seemed like the right move for me and something I wanted to be part of."
Aspinwall started his career at Wigan where he made over 100 appearances, scoring 33 tries in the process, before joining Huddersfield Giants and then Castleford Tigers.
During that time he also played in a Grand Final and a Challenge Cup Final, as well as touring with Great Britain and featuring for the England 'A' team.
However, having now put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Black and Whites, with an option in their favour of another 12-months, he admits joining a club like Hull FC is certainly a highlight on that list.
"It's very humbling and a privilege to be part of this club, with the tradition and the history they have got," he said.
"It's a massive club ? the fan base, the facilities, the stadium ? and now with a new regime in place that are desperate to take the club forward everything is positive and it's something any player would want to be part of.
"I am not going to sit here and say we're going to win trophies as it's not right to do that, but I know I am joining a club that wants to get better and improve and silverware is their aim."
Having brokered a deal with Aspinwall in time for the back rower to join his new team mates for pre-season training, FC's Director of Rugby, Shaun McRae, added, "We have a player in Martin that doesn't just possess plenty of ability as a footballer, but a character with a point to prove and someone who is keen to make the most of a fresh start and make an impression at a new club.
"He adds competition for places and extra depth in an area of the team we wanted to strengthen, as well as bringing a level of aggression and fierceness that we think will compliment the qualities of the players around him.
"Martin has impressed both Peter and myself in the way he has conducted himself over the last few weeks, he has had to be very patient before we could get the deal over the line and we are really looking forward to working with him and seeing the impact he can have in our side."
He added, "He is a proven Super League player with international pedigree and to be able to introduce someone of that stature into our squad at this stage is a real boost for us."
Aspinwall is now one of eight new signings confirmed for the new season, as a new look side enters a new era of Super League.
