Source: www.titans.com.auInaugural Jetstar Gold Coast Titans prop Luke Bailey has entrenched himself further into the club's growing history after tonight claiming a record third Paul Broughton Medal for the club's best and fairest player.
Bailey, who was also awarded the prestigious accolade in 2007 and 2010, was a clear-cut winner of the Paul Broughton Medal for 2011 - with his consistency and toughness again shining through in what was a tough year for the club.
On a history making night, retiring favourite Preston Campbell was honoured as the second inductee into the club's Hall of Fame, joining former Titan Mat Rogers, who was named as the inaugural inductee in March this year.
In the final Paul Broughton Medal standings for 2011, Bailey finished the year on 24 points ahead of boom rookie Matt Srama (16 points) and consistent Queensland State of Origin lock Ashley Harrison (15 points).
Harrison was at the top of the leaderboard on 13 points after 16 rounds but had his season cut short in Round 19 with elbow and shoulder injuries, while Srama made a late charge after only making his debut in Round 12.
Named in honour of the club's founding chairman Paul Broughton, points are awarded by coaching staff on a 3-2-1 basis throughout the 26 rounds.
Bailey stormed home with four consecutive man-of-the-match performances in Round 18 against the New Zealand Warriors, Round 19 against the Brisbane Broncos, Round 20 against North Queensland Cowboys and Round 21 against the Newcastle Knights.
In a further testament to his leadership qualities both on and off the field, 30-year-old Bailey was also awarded the Clubman of the Year accolade.
Campbell was also named the Members Player of the Year in his final season in the NRL after 14 outstanding years.
Srama did not go empty handed after his outstanding 2011 season, with the 20-year-old claiming the Rookie of the Year award after polling well in both NRL and NYC voting throughout the year.
Injured winger Kevin Gordon may have had his season cut short with a serious knee injury in Round 2 but that didn't stop his contribution off the field, with the 21-year-old winning the Community Award for his outstanding service in the community.
Gordon spent a total of 184 hours in making 123 appearances in the community this season - helping the club break records for their community programs in 2011.
Fellow winger David Mead also featured among the award winners, with his skilful one-handed pick-up of a Scott Prince cross-kick for a breath taking try in Round 22 against Cronulla earning him the Try of the Year award.
The full list of award winners and the Paul Broughton Medal honour roll is listed below:
In the National Youth Competition Under-20s awards, it was another prop in Luke Page who received the Toyota Cup Player of the Year award.
Fullback Jordan Rankin may have finished the year in first grade but he received the Players' Player award while forward Sam Martin, who is also one of the club's trainee development officers, picked up the Under-20s True Titan Award.

Source: www.titans.com.auInspirational Jetstar Gold Coast Titans prop Luke Bailey has been named to return from injury for Monday night's clash against the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium.
With the benefit of a further six days before their next assignment against the Tigers, Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Coach John Cartwright today named Bailey to make his return from a neck injury which ruled him out of last Saturday's 26-18 victory over Canberra at Skilled Park.
Cartwright said Bailey's fitness would be monitored throughout the week before a firm decision is made on whether he will travel with the team to Sydney on Sunday.
"He'll have a fitness test a bit later in the week, we've got until Monday,'' said Cartwright.
"He's feeling okay today but he's desperate to play in the last game so we'll make sure he's 100 per cent right before we run him out on the field.
"He was pretty close to playing last week but I just don't want it to flare up. We'll give him a bit of a searching hit-out later in the week and if he gets through that, we'll play him.''
In other team changes, centre Clinton Toopi has been named in the centres in place of Dominic Peyroux, who has been ruled out after suffering a suspected broken hand against the Raiders.
Toopi was included on the interchange bench against the Raiders but did not take the field, with Cartwright erring on the side of caution after Toopi suffered from symptoms of vertigo in the club's previous match against the Storm.
Cartwright said Toopi had been medically cleared to play prior to the Raiders game but he had elected not to use him in the match as the situation did not call for it. He said the former New Zealand international would benefit from a full week of training in the lead-up to the Tigers clash.
Despite the disappointment surrounding the loss of hard-hitting centre Peyroux, Cartwright said his four-game stint in the NRL had proven he could make the step-up from Queensland Cup level.
"It's a tragedy for Dom and the team,'' said Cartwright. "He's been one of our better players over the last three rounds and has certainly made a difference defensively for us out there.
"He was really establishing himself but it's nice to know he can compete at that level. He's got a good head on his shoulders and after another good off-season, he's going to be a good player for us.''
