Source: www.cowboys.com.auToday the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys announced that inaugural Toyota Cowboy Paul Bowman would retire at the end of season 2007.
After thirteen seasons in the top grade and playing 192 first grade games to date Paul decided to announce that he would not play on pass this season.
CEO of the Toyota Cowboys Peter Parr paid tribute to the greatest Cowboy of all.
"Paul has been here from the start and has shown all the qualities that make him the most respected player to have worn the Cowboys jersey. He has played more games for this club than any other and has been a wonderful player on the field and a great ambassador off it," said Parr.
Bowman has enjoyed his time at the Cowboys,
"Rugby League has been what I have known and done for the past 13 years and I am happy to be making this decision while I am still contributing to the team.
"I am thankful that I have been able to stay at the same club for my entire career and I have had great satisfaction seeing the club graduate from humble beginnings to genuine title contenders. I would like to sincerely thank all those who have been at the club during my time here and I look forward to being part of a successful finish to this season with our club."Bowman has played 12 State of Origin games for Queensland and at the end of 2006 was the first person to be granted Life Membership of the North Queensland Club.

Veteran centre Paul Bowman has been rushed back into the Cowboys line up for Saturday's home clash against the Sydney Roosters at Dairy Farmers Stadium.
Bowman made a successful return from a career threatening neck injury in the Wizard Queensland Cup last Friday night for the Young Guns and Cowboys coach Graham Murray had no hesitation to rush the former State of Origin representative back into the side.
Unfortunately it means that Mark Henry is the unlucky player to miss out after a fine performance against the Broncos last week where he crossed for a try.
