Source: www.parraeels.com.auPIRTEK Eels try-scoring record holder Luke Burt will wear the No.1 jersey in place of the suspended Jarryd Hayne against the Gold Coast Titans at Parramatta Stadium this Sunday.
Burt is no stranger to the position, showing outstanding form during the first 17 rounds of the 2007 season before copping a season ending knee injury, plus for all but the last five rounds of 2008. He last played there regularly for the first seven rounds of 2009 when Hayne was at five-eighth, before being switched to the wing when Hayne became the regular fullback and hit a Dally M-winning stretch of form.
Jordan Atkins, who missed last Friday night's clash with the Bulldogs because of a minor leg injury, returns to the side on the wing to play against his former side in the only other change to the 17. Carl Webb, who missed the Bulldogs match, is on the five-man interchange bench (one to be omitted).

Source: www.parraeels.com.auLuke Burt confirmed his status as a one club legend, winning the game for the Pirtek Parramatta Eels as well as breaking the all-time club record for most tries 111 - passing Brett Kenny's 110 - all on the one important night for the Eels' season.
Burt was outstanding for the Eels finishing with 14 points as well as scoring the Eels first try in the heart-stopping encounter. In addition, the Eels stuck to their game plan and held their nerve for 80 minutes, despite losing centre Ryan Morgan at half-time.
The physical encounter was expected by the Eels, who constantly put their bodies on the line - both in defence and in attack - at Parramatta Stadium, outclassing the Cowboys in a Saturday night thriller to win 22-20.
The best start to a match for the Eels of recent times with control and structure being main contributors to their success. However, on the back of a penalty at the halfway mark, the Cowboys were able score through a back line movement that finished in the corner with the first try to former Eel, Ashley Graham.
A strong attacking raid from the Eels came to an abrupt end, with Luke Burt deemed to have stripped the ball from Graham's hands after the turnover and on the back of this penalty, Graham almost had his second for the night.
However, it didn't take long for the Cowboys to grab their next, taking a firm lead in the first ten minutes 10-0. A deflection from a Thurston kick came back into the hands of Thompson who ran forty metres before being pulled down just short of the line. But next play Thurston spread it wide and FaiFai Loa posted the second try in the corner for the Cowboys.
But the Eels made the Cowboys taste their own medicine moments later and on the back of their penalty - for a dangerous lift on Lasalo - Luke Burt equaled legend Brett Kenny's record with 110 tries for the Parramatta Eels.
The Battle upfront between key forwards Mannah and opposite Matt Scott had the crowd rising to their feet, the collisions being felt throughout the arena.
But a break from Lasalo from a Robson ball raised the roof as the second rower ran thirty metres before giving the ball to a supporting Joel Reddy on the outside who had been tackled just ten out. Next play, Carl Webb exploded onto the scene for the Eels but also was stopped just metres from the line.
The Eels calmness gave them the chance to have repeated sets of six through a Robson grubber in-goal. However, from the Cowboys line goal drop out return, Hayne could have posted the Eels second but if not for a Bowen try saving tackle that knocked the ball from Hayne's hands as he went to touch downl.
Despite this, next set of six the Cowboys made a mistake from the turnover and Hayne redeemed by giving a bullet ball to Ryan Morgan - from a set play - who stepped inside to score under the post to tie the game up 10-10 with just minutes remaining in the first half.
A superman effort commenced the second half - but not from Hayne - from Cowboys winger FaiFai Loa. Loa found space down the wing out-pacing Uaisele before darting left and right around Hayne, finally deciding that the corner was where he was going to touchdown and touchdown he did, soaring through the air to score to give the Cowboys the lead 10-14.
The Eels hit the front ten minutes later after opting to run the ball on the last tackle. Robson called for it before giving a cut out ball to Hayne, then Hayne passed it to Smith ? who had replaced an injured Morgan in the centre's ? who finally gave the ball to Uaisele to score in the corner, Burt converting to put the Eels ahead 16-14.
Thurston was starting to demand the ball desperate to give the Cowboys the lead, but the Eels on line defenses were sensational holding back numerous attacking raids from North Queensland - Hayne the catalyst on many occasions putting his body on the line to hold up Cowboy attackers.
But it was Hindmarsh who showed that it's not quantity that's important, despite making over 10,000 tackles in the NRL, but quality when it counts. He came up with two absolutely brilliant try-saving tackles that, in the end, probably won the match for the Eels. The first was when he chased down Glenn Hall - who was certain to score - then turned him over when he'd reached the line and came up with the ball.
To show that it was not a one-off special, Hindy did it again moments later, this time stopping Aaron Payne on his arrival to the try-line. But, that only stopped the Cowboys attack momentarily as Thurston gave a line ball next play to Tonga who dived under Eels defenders, putting them ahead 16-20 with ten minutes to go.
Then another Eels legend was born, Luke Burt breaking the club record with 111 tries and winning the game for the Eels in the final minutes of the match.
