Source: www.sydneyroosters.com.auSydney Roosters forward Daniel Conn expects his former club to be rejuvenated and up for the challenge on Friday night after a 14 day break.
The Gold Coast Titans received a week off after defeating the New Zealand Warriors when the higher placed Penrith Panthers slipped up against the Canberra Raiders.
The Tricolours have had to play a 100 more minutes of football than this week's opponents but the former Titan is confident his side can get the job done at Suncorp Stadium.
"We can't worry too much about that," Conn said of the rested Titans.
"We've got to fix a few little things we let slip last week in our last game. We just need to focus on what we need to get right this week.
"I think we might be a good chance as underdogs this week," he said.
The Titans will welcome back livewire fullback Preston Campbell from a hamstring strain, the time off also doing wonders for co-captains Luke Bailey (hand) and Scott Prince (shoulder) who played with injuries in week one of the finals series along with a few others.
Conn remains weary of the wounded Titans and said the respite that came with the advantage of their top four finish would give them an edge.
"I think the Titans needed the break, they had a few under an injury cloud," Conn said
"I'm not too sure if teams look at it as an advantage, they're a pretty experienced side so it might suit them. I think it depends on what type of team you've got.
"For us it's best we play week in week out to get some momentum. Although last week's win was a pretty scratchy game I think we picked up a bit of confidence from it," he said"
Limited opportunities with the Gold Coast club and a chance meeting with new Tricolours mentor Brian Smith has aided the new lease of life for the boy from the outskirts of tiny country town Goolma.
The hard working forward has made a career best 21 appearances this season with the fresh start but maintains there is nothing to prove to the club that let him go.
"I don't really have anything to prove to them," Conn stated.
"I think all of me being consistent this year just comes down to the coaching staff and having a bit of an attitude.
"When I go up there I've got nothing to prove. I'm going to go out there and do the best I can for the team and myself and hopefully that will be enough to get us over the line."
The Tricolours side named for the Grand Final qualifier is:
Anthony Minichiello, Joseph Leilua, Kane Linnett, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Sam Perrett, Todd Carney, Mitchell Pearce, Jason Ryles, Jake Friend, Frank Paul Nuuausala, Nate Myles, Mitchell Aubusson, Braith Anasta. Interchange: Martin Kennedy, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Daniel Conn, Ben Jones, Lopini Paea (one to be omitted).

Source: www.sydneyroosters.com.auIt has taken just three NRL games to convince Sydney Roosters forward Daniel Conn that his return to the Harbour City has been the right one.
After featuring in all of Brian Smith's sides since the season kicked off with a thumping 26 point win over local rivals South Sydney the league glamour boy is enjoying life at his new club.
For the first time in his career Conn has played in the opening three rounds of a season since making his debut for the Canterbury Bulldogs in round 11 of 2005.
"It's been a good experience so far and I'm enjoying my football," the 24-year-old said.
"We got a wake-up call on Sunday but true to form since I've got here everyone has just got on with the job.
"We have had minor setbacks during the preseason with injuries, our gym flooding and other little things that can go wrong but credit to the players and coaches we have just got on with the job," he said.
That is exactly what the Tricolours will be looking to do on Good Friday when they host the Brisbane Broncos at the Sydney Football Stadium.
The four day break is the shortest they will have to experience and one Conn believes is easier to accept after last weekend.
"After a loss like we had you just want to get back out there and make things right," he said.
"It's important we don't overplay our hand but we need to bounce back from last week and the best time to do that is on Friday night.
"The Broncos are undermanned but the worst thing you can do in sport is underestimate your opposition. They are a professional club and we will show them respect but we expect to get back to how things were in the opening two rounds," Conn stated.
Conn's determination and hardworking attitude over the preseason was enough to convince the coaching staff that he could fill an important role in the 17 each week.
"He's a tough character, a typical country boy in his work rate on and off the field," head coach Smith expressed.
"When you see a guy turn up to training with a contraption on his knee and get involved in everything but sprints, only because he was held back, it certainly is admirable.
"He was at every session and always giving all that he could as he recovered from injury. You could see he really wanted to be a part of what we are trying to do here and he hasn't let anyone down."
