Wigan Warriors rugby legends Kris Radlinski MBE and Gary Connolly will present their first ever Sportsman's Dinner at the JJB Stadium on Wednesday 6th May in aid of the Steve Prescott Foundation.
The exclusive, ticket-only, event will have rugby fans drooling at the prospect of hearing some great tales from the pair's time as professionals. The event will be held in the superb surroundings of the Marquee Suite at the stadium.
Despite being asked many times, this will be Kris' and Gary's debut as professional speakers, something they're both looking forward to.
Said Radlinski, "When we've been asked before the timing's never been right. This time though, especially with supporting Steve, we couldn't really refuse. It promises to be a great evening."
Connolly added, "I loved every minute of being a professional so being able to share some of those experiences with all the loyal fans will be a treat for us."
The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by the former Hull player after he was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer. It raises funds for the Rugby League Benevolent Fund and cancer research at Christies Hopsital, Manchester.
Kris Radlinski was awarded the MBE for services to Rugby following a glittering career at his hometown team Wigan, coming through the ranks to perform at the highest stage of the all, the Super League. He won every honour in the game including the Lance Todd Trophy for being Man of the Match in the Challenge Cup Final in 2002 and appeared several times for Great Britain and England.
Gary Connolly, affectionately nicknamed "Lager", had a richly rewarding career starting at St Helens where he played at Wembley at the tender age of 17. From there he went on to star in the highly successful Wigan side of the mid Nineties as well as gaining several international honours with Great Britain and England. Later, he played for Canterbury Bulldogs, Orrell RU, Leed Rhinos and Widnes before moving to the Munster team in Ireland.
Tickets are priced at 35. The evening commences at 7.30pm and includes a three course meal, top comedian, MC Malcolm Lord and games. Tickets can be bought online at
