Source: www.newcastleknights.com.auThe Newcastle Knights Interchange has a new look for Round Eight, when the Novocastrians take on the Rabbitohs at Telstra Stadium this Sunday April 30, at 2:30pm.
Injuries and suspension have opened up opportunities for Luke Davico and utility back, Dustin Cooper to join the Knights top squad.
Davico played his junior football with The Entrance/Belconnen United and made his First Grade debut with the Canberra Raiders in 1994.
Sunday will be his first top grade appearance in the red and blue after extensive rehabilitation for a pectoral injury.
"It's been almost two year's since I first suffered the injury so I'm looking forward to putting it all behind me and making a valuable contribution."
"I grew up just down the road at Gosford so to play First Grade with the Knights is a home coming of sorts for me," said Davico.
"Luke has proved himself with three solid appearances in Premier League and he appears to have his timing back. I think he's ready to step up," said Knights Coach Michael Hagan.
Michael Hagan announced his 17-man squad to travel to Telstra Stadium today, Jarrod Mullen remains at half back for injured Captain, Andrew Johns.
Adam Woolnough moves into the starting line up, cleared of any serious injury after suffering a broken nose in Round Seven against the Storm, replacing Josh Perry at prop. Perry will miss the next three weeks through suspension after accepting an early plea for two contrary conduct charges.
Davico and Dustin Cooper fill the two Interchange vacancies, joining Riley Brown and Todd Lowrie.
