Source: http://www.hullkr.co.ukHull Kingston Rovers are delighted to announce that half-back pairing Michael Dobson and Blake Green have extended their contracts with the club until the end of 2014.
The former Australian Schoolboy internationals were both due out of contract at the end of the 2012 campaign but will continue to form a formidable partnership at Craven Park for the next three seasons.
Twice named in the Super League Dream Team during his stay with the Robins, 25-year old Dobson has made 94 appearances for the red and whites, and said that he is pleased to put to bed speculation linking him with a return to the NRL.
"It's really good to get it all sorted out and there's been a bit of speculation but I'm really happy to have sorted it out and I'm really happy in Hull," Dobson told Hull KR.tv.
"Hopefully we're challenging and winning a bit of silverware," was Dobson's aim for the next three years.
"We're going to build on a good core of players in the next couple of years. You're still going to have the experience of Ben Galea, Clint Newton and Jake Webster, but we saw Jordan Cox and Louis Sheriff getting games at the weekend too.
Dobson was equally pleased to see Green also continue his Robins stay. "It's going to be really good.
"I get along really well with Blake and he's probably been our best performer this year and I'm happy he's going to be staying with me here for the next few years."
Green, 24, has enjoyed an impressive first season in Super League since moving from Canterbury Bulldogs at the start of 2011, scoring 9 tries and contributing 19 try assists in 22 Super League outings.
He has been arguably the Robins most consistent performer in engage Super League XVI, and admits the opportunity to play regular first grade rugby was a big factor in his decision.
"That's the main reason," said Green .
"I'm very thankful to Justin for bringing me over here and giving me the opportunity so that's definitely a big part of it.
"I'm very happy to get it sorted and very happy to be staying alongside Dobbo for the next few years.
"We've got some good young kids coming through and I'm excited to be part of their future and part of their development.
Speaking of his partnership with Dobson, Green commented: "Hopefully it takes off for us and I'm really confident it will."

Source: www.superleague.co.ukMartin Gleeson and Sean Long teamed up on derby day once again to overshadow Michael Dobson and help Hull FC exact revenge on their bitter rivals Hull KR for last year's play-off defeat and this season's opening-day loss in Cardiff with a 36-18 victory.
The duo, long-time team-mates at St Helens, were reunited at Hull a week ago following Gleeson's departure from Wigan Warriors, but the build-up to the centre's debut in today's 212th Hull derby was overshadowed by events on the east of the city.
The saga which saw Rovers de-register marquee signing Willie Mason to make way for fit-again playmaker Dobson hogged the majority of the pre-match headlines but, with Mason watching from the stands and Dobson unable to stop his side sliding to an eighth defeat in 11 games this season, Hull meted out the perfect revenge for their last two meetings with their old foes.
Fittingly, Gleeson and Long were at the heart of Hull's positive contributions, scoring a try each when the game was tight in the first half, before Hull eventually ran away with it after Long played Richard Whiting in for a pressure-releasing score.
It was the display of winger Tom Briscoe that caught the eye the most, though, with the England man laying on Hull's opener for Kirk Yeaman, executing a stunning try-saving tackle to deny Peter Fox in the second half and then scoring himself to add gloss to the win.
Childhood Rovers fan Yeaman scored twice in Cardiff and was on the mark again here, crashing in after a flowing move that was started by Briscoe and went through the hands of Richard Horne and Willie Manu.
Danny Tickle added the extras, but the visitors were quickly level.
Matt Cook, who dwarfed Mason when replacing him in the last two games, was the scorer for a third game running, taking in a pass from Blake Green before breaking through and skipping past Cameron Phelps, affording Dobson the simplest of conversions.
A near miss for Fox then proved to be the precursor for Hull regaining their six-point lead, with Long given a benefit-of-the-doubt score despite it being unclear if Ben Cockayne had halted his close-range dart.
Not content with allowing his opposite number to steal the show, Dobson quickly set about levelling things up, laying on a stunning flat pass for Kris Welham who bounced in for his 10th of the season.
The home fans then got one of the things they came to see as Gleeson marked his debut in the most perfect of fashions.
With nine minutes of the opening half remaining, Long sent play to the right where Hull KR were short on numbers, with Gleeson's quick show-and-go earning him a path to the line.
The second half started fairly innocuously but burst into life on the 50-minute mark.
When Hull narrowly shaded Rovers in the same fixture at the same ground last season, a last-second tackle from Briscoe stopped Fox winning the game for his side.
It was not the last minute this time but, when Jake Webster's quick hands sent Fox racing the length of the field, the outstanding England winger was on hand again to prevent his international team-mate from crossing the line.
Gleeson (twice) and Whiting then had 'scores' chalked off by the video referee for falling short as Rovers' left-hand defence was pushed to its limit, before Long finally found the money ball, putting Whiting over, although the try owed more to the winger's stunning airborne finish.
Rovers fired back, with a sumptuous reverse ball from Green sending Cockayne flying in, but, after Tickle slotted a penalty that earned Hull six points of breathing space, an astonishing display of strength from Manu finally won the game for Hull.
The home side looked to have lost their way on the last tackle but Manu did not and, after dragging four defenders with him to the line, found an offload that sent Yeaman in for his brace, before Briscoe got the try he deserved, but perhaps Rovers did not, in the last second.
