Source: www.raiders.com.auThe Canberra Raiders have secured the services of two experienced and seasoned players for 2007, with Andrew Dunemann and Scott Logan both agreeing to two year deals with the club.
The pair is currently playing in the English Super League, with Dunemann playing for the Salford City Reds, and Logan for the Wigan Warriors.
Dunemann gives the Raiders the experience in the halves to replace veteran five-eighth Jason Smith who is heading to the Cowboys, and Simon Woolford who is heading to the Dragons, while Logan will be used in the front row to help lead the Raiders young forward pack.
The experienced pair will return to the NRL after stints in the English Super League, with Dunemann a premiership player with Leeds in 2004, in a side featuring Raiders assistant Coach David Furner.
Furner said he knows Dunemann has the ability to return to the NRL with success, and expects him to provide some great guidance for the young Raiders halves.
"He gives us the experience and security to cover the halfback and hooker position," David Furner said.
"He will also be a valuable mentor to our young halves such as Todd Carney and Michael Dobson."Furner said he expects Dunemann to return to the NRL with a new lease of life, and is looking forward to big things from his former teammate.
"Andrew believes he went to England too early in his career and he still has a lot to offer," he said.
"I know what talent he has and I'm sure he will make a good impact next year."Scott Logan returns to the NRL after a season with English Super League side the Wigan Warriors, where he has played alongside halfback Michael Dobson who is returning to Canberra next year.
Raider's general manager Don Furner said Logan will be a good mentor for the Raiders forwards, and is looking forward to his arrival at Raiders HQ.
"Scott will help Troy Thompson lead the likes of Michael Weyman, Dane Tilse and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs into the future," Don Furner said.
