Source: www.broncos.com.auTHE Broncos have shored up their backline stocks with the re-signing of talented young winger Dane Gagai today.
The son of former Broncos top grader Ray Gagai has inked a new two-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2014.
Gagai, who made his NRL debut last year but has not played first grade this season as he sits behind an international backline, said he was pleased to stay.
"I was presented with the opportunity to stay for another two years and I took it," he said.
"With an international backline there I just see it as a challenge and it makes me a better footballer.
"Being able to be around those guys and play with them and get advice from them is good."
The news is timely for the Broncos, who withdrew winger Gerard Beale's contract offer yesterday when his management again failed to agree to terms.

Source: www.qrl.com.auJOE Bond led Redcliffe superbly from the back, scoring a try and setting up two others as the Dolphins demolished the Burleigh Bears 32-6.
In what was at times a slippery contest, the Dolphins completely outclassed their opponents, keeping the Bears scoreless until the 78th minute.
The first points of the game came in the 10th minute, when Bond slid a grubber through the defensive line for Aaron Whitchurch to pounce for his second try of the year.
Liam Georgetown's attempt at conversion was a wobbly one in the windy conditions, but snuck over after bouncing off the crossbar.
Five minutes later the "Joe Bond Show" kicked into third gear, as he slipped through the defensive line, before unloading to Bronco Dane Gagai, who raced away for a four-pointer.
From the next set, Bond chased a short kick and toed ahead, winning the foot race to the ball to score one of his own. When Georgetown added the extras, the Dolphins were scoring at a point a minute to be up 18-0.
Burleigh struggled to gain momentum, as poor handling and inaccurate passing allowed Redcliffe to a healthy share of possession.
It became a forwards battle until the 34th minute, when Gagai plucked an interception and raced away to grab his second under the sticks.
An error from the ensuing kickoff allowed Burleigh a chance to sneak in before halftime. A wayward pass that lost the Bears 20 metres snuffed out the opportunity, so the score remained 24 points to nil at halftime.
The second half started the same way the first ended, when Dolphin Tom Butterfield ran 10m from dummy half to snatch a four pointer.
With the score at 28-0, Burleigh Bear Tyron Haynes almost scored his side's first points, breaking the defensive line and taking off downfield. Some brilliant cover defence pulled him down just short of the line, with a poor fifth tackle option forced a turnover.
As the match wore on, Burleigh made plenty of metres from their sets, but couldn't breach the brilliant goal-line defence of the Dolphins.
With 10 minutes to go, Redcliffe made their way to the attacking zone off the back of two penalties. From the ensuing set, the Dolphins swept left, with a brilliant floating ball from former Ipswich Jet Luke Capewell cutting out three players and into the hands of Whitchurch who picked up his second for the day.
The Dolphins took the foot off the pedal, and with only two minutes remaining, the Burleigh Bears 2011 Player of the Year Anthony Don capitalised on the tiring defence and grabbed a consolation try of his own. Aiden Sezer was successful with the conversion, with the final score remaining 32-6.
The Redcliffe Dolphins were clinical, and will be a tough team to beat for the remainder of the season. They face some tough competition in the Ipswich Jets next Sunday at Dolphin Oval, which will also be Redcliffe's first televised game of the year.
The Bears have a lot of work to do during the week if they want to trouble Wynnum-Manly next Sunday. Wayward passing and a multitude of handling errors and poor fifth tackle options let them down in this game.
The result ended a successful day for Redcliffe, as the Dolphins defeated Burleigh 36-22 in the FOGS Colts Challenge.
REDCLIFFE DOLPHINS 32 (Aaron Whitchurch 2, Dane Gagai 2, Joe Bond, Tom Butterfield tries; Liam Georgetown 4 goals) def BURLEIGH BEARS 6 (Anthony Don try; Aidan Sezer goal) at Pizzey Park.
