Hall ends speculation and remains at Hull FC

Hull FC centre Craig Hall has ended all the speculation and rumours over his future by signing a new two year deal. It is a deal which commits the 20 year old to the club until the end of the 2010 season, and he revealed: "This is the club I have always wanted to play for."

Hall has been linked with a number of Hull's Super League rivals, included neighbours and arch rivals Hull KR, but he said: "Everyone had been saying that because my dad played for Hull KR I was going to join them and that just wasn't the case.

"I am delighted I have now put these rumours to bed because I have to admit they were starting to get to me a bit.

"People were asking me about it all the time, the websites were full of it, and at first it didn't bother me but then I got really fed up with it all.

"The rumours were all over the place but now that's over and I am delighted to have sorted out what I believe is a good deal to stay with Hull.

"It is where I want to be and I can now just concentrate on playing for Hull, helping them have success and improve my own game."

Like all 20 year olds, Hall is ambitious and wants to enjoy success, and he added: "I believe I can achieve all my ambitions at this club and that is one of the reasons why I am staying.

"I am confident we will be a force in the game. We have some good players here and we also have some good youngsters like me who will only improve and get better with experience."

Although desperately disappointed after the weekend's controversial defeat against Hull KR at Cardiff, Hall believes Hull will still challenge for honours this season.

"A couple of wins and we'll be right back in the hunt for a play off place," he said. "We have a good chance to do well in the Challenge Cup and now we're getting players back I can only see an improvement in our form."

Hall is another of the present squad who have recently committed their futures to the club and his decision has delighted coach Peter Sharp who revealed: "This is excellent news for us because Craig is without question a rare talent.

"He is such an exciting prospect and, although he is still learning and has parts of his game still to improve he can do things others can't.

"Having Craig on board for at least another two years is a big bonus for the club."

Meanwhile, Hull FC Rugby League Club will be hosting a FUNdamentals 2008 FUN Olympics on Monday 23 June and Tuesday 24 June at the GEMTEC Arena by the Kingston Communications Stadium.

The Airlie Bird will be on hand with the Olympic Torch to open both ceremonies followed by a guideline of each respective fun skills stations from the Hull FC Foundation Staff and Hull FC players.

Both of the days will commence at 10.00am after registrations at 9.30am and will look to finish around 2.00pm with the Medal ceremony with the Awards for Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Each Primary School have been asked to bring three children from Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4, so in effect twelve children with a couple of members of staff present. Of the twelve children, six will be girls and six will be boys.

Each Primary School on both of the days will be wearing different Countries colours, as well as bringing their respective chosen Countries flag. The National Anthem will then be played at the Awards ceremony should their Country win Gold.

The FUNdamentals 2008 FUN Olympics stations will include events incorporating time, distance and accuracy. This is the culmination of a lot of FUNdamentals 2008 coaching from the month of January all the way through to June in various areas of Hull and East Riding to improve the young children's balance, co-ordination and agility.

Hull FC are proud to announce that Craig Hall has signed a one-year extension to his contract keeping him at the club until the end of the 2008 season.

Hall has featured in five first team games this season and is more than happy at the club. Craig said: "I am delighted to have signed a new deal. I am really enjoying my time at the club and am looking forward to continuing my development at Hull FC."

Craig has already joined some of the greats in the record books scoring a hat trick of tries on his debut against Hunslet Hawks. That brings his total number of tries to eight in five appearances. His potential has impressed coach Peter Sharp. Peter said: "I'm very excited. Craig has a lot of potential and is learning his craft at the moment. I expect him to be a top line player for Hull FC in the near future."

Chief Executive James Rule said: "Extending Craig's contract provides us with an opportunity to continue to develop one of the most exciting prospects in Super League. It is credit to the coaching team to see another product of our Academy breaking through into the first team and securing a new contract."
