Source: www.crusadersrfl.comJosh Hannay will return to the team for Celtic Crusaders' exciting engage Super League match against Bradford Bulls at the Brewery Field this Saturday (kick-off 6pm).
The centre was declared fit by John Dixon today following yesterday's successful training session.
"We've been pleased with Josh's progress this week," said Dixon. "He's been very keen in training and he's been itching to get back on the park."
Hannay is named in Dixon's 19-man squad as the Crusaders attempt to do their only Super League double of the season. The Welsh side won 30-24 at Odsal in May.
As expected, Peter Lupton has recovered for a knock that he picked up in last week's match at Hull FC. Adam Peek (knee) and Jason Chan (rib) weren't as successful and won't take to the field on Saturday. Peek will be out for a few weeks yet but Chan is hoping to return for the trip to Perpignan to face Catalans Dragons on August 1st.
There is a minor possibility that Bradford could field the same side who lost 14-20 at home to Wigan Warriors last week as all 17 players are included in Steve McNamara's 19.
However this isn't that likely as Fijian World Cup star Semi Tadulala and Glenn Morrison return from injury.
Morrison had initially been ruled out for six weeks with a rib injury, two games into his comeback from a 10-week lay-off with a wrist injury but returns after missing just four games.
Tadulala along with stand-off Ben Jeffries and Welsh international prop Craig Kopczak were all omitted from last week's game after picking up slight injuries but only the former returns.
"All three have trained tremendously hard since they knew they weren't going to be playing against Wigan," said McNamara. "Certainly Semi will come back into contention for this week's game against Celtic Crusaders.
"Semi wasn't selected last week. Basically, particularly in the last couple of games, he's been way down in energy by his own standards and he had come up with some uncharacteristic errors too. He's had a couple of slight niggles as well and we didn't see the point of aggravating those by playing him in the reserves."
Kick-off at the Brewery Field is 6pm with the two club's reserve teams meeting at Maesteg RFC at 2.30pm.
Bradford's reserve side is likely to include Newcastle Falcons RU and England Saxons winger John Rudd who will play his second game in a month-long trial. Rudd debuted against Wigan Warriors' reserve side last week as they were beaten 48-10.
"I've been involved with a lot of rugby league people in union, including Shaun Edwards who coached me at Wasps," said Rudd. "Generally, as a winger, I like to get my hands on the ball and never had much interest in kicking it in union. I'm quite confrontational as well and over the years a few people have suggested I could be well suited to league."
Tom Burnell returns from injury for Crusaders reserves while Bridgend Ravens and Bridgend Blue Bulls trialist Jamie Murphy could play his third game for the club. Murphy was one of the stand out performers in his first match against Warrington three weeks ago when he scored two tries and created another.

Source: www.crusadersrfl.comCeltic Crusaders are hoping that their former State of Origin centre Josh Hannay will be available for this Saturday's engage Super League encounter with Bradford Bulls at the Brewery Field in Bridgend (kick-off 6pm).
This match is Crusaders' only chance of obtaining a Super League 'double' this season following their 30-24 win at the Bulls on May 17th.
"We are hopeful that Josh will be back on Saturday," said Crusaders coach John Dixon. "He has missed six out of the last seven matches so I know that he wants to have the game time. But we will take his progress on a day by day basis and we won't know for sure whether he'll be in the team until Saturday morning."
Hannay has been filling in the time in his absence by enjoying a temporary role as BBC Radio Wales' expert summariser during Crusaders' home matches. He has assisted regular commentator Gareth Rhys Owen in three of the last four home games, including the wins over Wigan Warriors and Salford City Reds.
"I really enjoyed doing the commentary," said Hannay. "But obviously I'd rather be out on the field, so hopefully Gareth will have to look for someone else to help him for the Bradford game this Saturday."
Hannay's return will be a welcome boost as the Crusaders picked up three injuries last Friday at Hull FC.
Of those, loose forward Peter Lupton hopes to be fit for Saturday, there is a doubt over second rower Jason Chan but forward Adam Peek faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering suspected medial ligament damage.
The Welsh side are yet to learn the extent of the injury but coach John Dixon is hopeful the 32-year-old will feature again this season.
Dixon said: "It looks like he has torn a medial ligament in his knee and that's a real blow for us.
"It could be quite serious but some guys play tough and he's one that does play tough. If I chipped my toenail I'd probably be out for months but some guys can play whatever happens. He's an important player for us."
